Thrive learning Institute Reviews

Not being able to get my Money back
Thrive has done nothing that they have promised. I am so disgusted that I spent over 14 grand with them plus all the fees associated with it like e-bay etc. My web site has never been built and I was told it would be built for me...not true. The only thing they do is have web hosting classes which I could not participate in if I wanted to. I have told them already that you need a mike and a headphones which I do not have.
I have since hired another company to build my web site for me and they have given me a list of dropshippers already...all for 2500. I am sending a letter to the better business of Utah as I feel that is all I can do at this point. The name of my web site is being changed with the new company and they seem to know what they are doing for a much lower price. I only wish I had found out about them before becoming involved with the scamming company known as Thrive.

scammed by thrive
I have complained on here before, but have not been able to find my original complaint, so I am posting again. Also there are many other complaints that used to be on here but I can no longer find.
My complaint is the exact same story as everybody elses on here, so no need to explain except to say I am still fighting them. Hopefully I will see this post show up !!!

Bad business policies
Like everyone else, I was mislead about their services. I was charged over $5, 000 for them to help me create an on-line store. I have not tried to get a refund because I know it is useless as I signed a contract also. I have been well over 4 months and still do not have my site up and running. I am however paying monthly for the $5, 000 training fee as well as fees for the web builder and fees for ability to accept credit cards. I would love to get my money back and be done with them. Maybe if enough complain someone will do something about them.

Misled
I wish to make a correction from my entry on January 21st. I was mentioning that I had originally been contacted by "Platinum Trading Solutions" who never mentioned the name "Thrive Learning Institute" the whole time I was being pitched. In reviewing my notes and going to the website I see that it is really called "Platinum Training Solutions" and is definitely "Thrive Learning Institute" disquised. I say disguised because again, the "Thrive" name is never used in describing their program and if you Google under that name, no complaint blogs come up! But in the "testimonials" section there is at least one person who refers to the program as "Thrive I". Regarding where I stand with Thrive at present, I would say to anybody considering buying their program, Good Luck and get ready for a ride!

scammed out of my money
On november 1, 2008 I was contacted by internet auction solutions to start a business online. They kept me on the phone for about two and a half hours and every time I tried to get out of it; the man kept insisting that I could do this. That was a lie. He got 6, 236.00 from me and I was not able to get my business going. The coaches from thrive learning instatitute would keep giving me the run around. Giving me more and more nonsence. I know now that they would do this to wear me down so I would break down and give in and give up. This is an online scam and all they do is give false hope and take your money. Be aware of there tactics.
They are experts at taking your money and if you try to get your money from them, they tell you you signed a contract. There is no way out of it. I just wish the government would get involved and shut them down. Seems like someone could do something? They have hurt to many individuals

senior citizen fraud
My mother is 76 years old and on a fixed income with little or no money to spare. Thrive Institute called her in December 0f 2008 to sign up for their so called internet business. The sales tactics they used on her were unethical. The FBI web page on senior citizen fraud lists half the tactics they used on her. They would call her at 10pm at night and keep calling until she broke down. They got her for $3800 up front. She is trying to work with the coaches to make the best of the situation but she is 76 years old, in ill health and her computer expertise is nowhere near what is needed to succeed with this program. She gets physically sick when she has to even deal with the coaches at thrive. I am so upset. Can't these unethical sales people be stopped? She has asked for a refund but they have her taped conversation authorizing the purchase- even though it was done after phone call after phone call from these jerks until she felt she had to get them to leave her alone.

Scammed
I paid full amount, I was misrepresented by what trriveli said theyn would do for me, Two days after I was
phone by thriveli to pay by credit card, I asked for a refund, I was told that they would not refund
my money back because we have a contract, I have been constanly emailing and phoning for a refund for Five (5) months and all I get is a run around by thriveli, Zack Bradshaw, Nicholes Johnson, and there coaches. I plan in filing a complaint with the BBB and Atorney General's Office of Utah, and any one else who will lissen or that can help put a stop to this scamming By thriveli.

I feel that I have been more than fair in waiting this long, to rteceive my money back, but to was
it, I received a email from Taylor, that he was going to call me on tuesday at 11am, and I did not phone or have the courtesy to phone and apologize for not calling or given any explanation as to why.

I am very angry with thriveli I paid them $11, 350.00 up front and was told I would start making
4-5.000 a month to pay my credit card back before its due, well like I ssid, every time I would ask
for a refund I would get this run around that they would d o this and that . I also was promished a
website which was encluded with my fees, and every time I would asked when is my website going
to be constructed I would get an excuse that I have to pay $39.95 for Hosting fees before my website is constructed.

Misleading Internet Business Scam
I have been a student since October 2008. When I signed up for an e-bay account, I got a call from a gentleman name John at Auction Profits. He said we are interviewing some people for an opportunity to start an online business. After about a 10 minute interview, he said that I qualify and I will be receiving a call back from Joel Bish. To make a long story short, Joel called me for about a month, and left me about 15 messages. I final call him back, and he gave me an offer that sounded like a good deal. The offer was for me to pay $3100 up front, and Thrive would help me double that investment in about 6 months or they will continue to work with me until I double this investment. I went ahead and signed up for the program, and Joel sent me the written agreement for the above offer to me via e-mail. He said to call him anytime if I ever have any issues or problems.

Since then, I have had a lot of problems with Thrive. For one, they never told there would be phases that I would go through in the program. They never sent me any outlines, and they take forever to answer the questions from my e-mails, sometimes a week. The times I have talked to the coaches, they are always busy with something else while they are talking to me, or they are very rude over the phone when the call goes past 15 minutes, like I am wasting their time. I have been ignored on the Thrive chat, and have been mislead many times over. I have called Joel Bish with the concerns, but he has never called me back. Before I signed up for the program, there was no problem getting hold of Joel, but now it is impossible. I also have a problem with calling themselves coaches. A coach is someone who strives to bring the best out of their students, for what they are asking the coach to lead them. It is very misleading to the students to believe that the personal down at Thrive are coaches. There has not been one time since I have been involved with the program where a so called coach pushed me, encourage me, or point me down the right path with my online business. I am about to enter the marketing phase of the program, and I am very discourage with where I am going with all of this. They have already tried to sell me a $2300 marketing package, and I have not even made any money.

Like most people on this site, I want to see about a class action law suit. But we need to know how we can come together and put something like this together. Please e-mail me anytime at [email protected]. Thanks and take care.

You said I could have my money back!!!!!
My complaint with the BBB of Utah is still open and Im still awaiting a check in the mail for the amount of $1500 from the Thrive Learning Institute. Mr Bradshaw, head of customer relations, called me over a week ago, 11/10/08, and stated that he would give me my money back. And then nothing.
Mr Bradshaw, do not leave a comment here, pick up the phone and talk to me directly. Or better yet, put a check in the mail and this will be done. Per your enrollment with consumer advocacy and mediation with this consumer complaint site I would imagine that you would want to take care of this matter as soon as possible. Wouldnt you?
I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...I want my money back...

Is this clear enough?

Can not get money back
I have never used their website or services and returned thier software, return reciepted, and was told that I could not get money back and if I didnt continue paying on the contract I would be sent to collections.

Thrive contacted me on or around 9/18/2008. I was to have my first appointment on 9/22/2008 at 10:30 am. I was called at 11:30, an hour later and told that internet services were down in downtown Lindon. I was to be contacted at 4pm. I never heard back. The next day I e-mailed to request an elibrary password. I didnt hear back for a couple of days. Then I recieved a v/m stateing that I had to make an appointment. The guy on the phone was rude and spoke with a disturbing attitude stateing that is what up to me to set these appointments after the firt guy stated that he would contact me to schedule the appointment. I started to get frustrated and after e-mailing and calling with no response I emailed and called to get my money back.

I was contacted today, October 23rd, 2008, by Zach, and was told because I was out of my 3 day return period I could not get back my down payment. Zach informed me that if I didnt keep paying on my contract he would send me to collections.

I am now out $1, 500.00 down payment, $144.21 a month on a $5, 000.00 contract, $39.95 for software I returned, and $39.95 for monthly website rental fees.

From 9/18 to 10/23, 2008 is 25 business days, well within the 90 days and my initial contact to Thrive was within 5 days. This is a very suspicious way to do business.
