We, seniors all, live in a low income HUD senior apts in Peoria, AZ. The weather is producing very high summer temperatures and we have asked management to turn on our chillers. There are tenants who are vomitting and getting sick because of the heat.
Many of us, tenants, have asked the property managers over and over again to please turn on the chiller.
This has been happening all last week and this week and all we get from the managers is, "He is supposed to come yesterday, but he had too much work and will come early this afternoon. It is now 2:35 and he hasn't been here yet. The property managers leave at 5 pm and with the weekend here tomorrow, we won't be able to call anyone if the chiller isn't turned on. Many of us, seniors, don't have relatives or friends they can spend the time with until the chiller is turned on.
If we complain to HUD, they tell us they aren't responsible for our apts anymore and we should call Arizona Housing which we did and they call the property managers who tell them the same story. We are 84 apartments, strong, yet we have to use only 4 washing machines and dryers, 2 on each floor. Most of them are broken and when we call WEB, who is the company that supplies these washers and dryers, we are told that we need new washers and dryers but managers won't pay for them and they are not under contract to replace them. Our chiller repairer says he is not under contract because the managers refuse to pay, so he can come only if he feels like it. Please do something or refer me to someone, other than the ones I mentioned above.
