Unfair Billing
I was recently floored by a couple Time Warner ‘policies’ I would like to share with everyone.
1. Was told that they will not refund mistaken (or perhaps fraudulent charges) older than 90 days. Well, after I started subscribing to TW, a channel lineup I did not order had appeared on my bill. At the time I had blindly paid without looking at the details and unwittingly paid this for at-least 9 months. I called to simply correct the mistake and was hopeful a refund, instead was told of this company policy as the rep called it. To me, seems it should be illegal to charge for a service someone never received, despite having mistakenly paid the bill, especially in this day and age of auto bill payments.
2. Time Warner will charge for service though you are not receiving it, basically if it is turned off because you late on your payments. I had my service turned off as I was late on my payment, called made a payment and asked they turn my cable box and service back on. I was told I need to give them a $500 deposit to turn the service on, I refused. Later when I went to return the box I came to found out I was still being charged for the service in spite of it being turned off and I had indicated to cancel the account. When talking to a customer rep, I was met with, "Sorry sir, you were late on your payment. There is nothing I can do." I guess the policy is, if you are late on your payment and your service is turned off as result, you deserve to get taken advantage of.
Moral to the story, try to can't avoid the harsh customer service and business practice of Time Warner Cable. If you have to subscribe to this service, at the very least analyze your bill each month. Then, at least then you may not get taken advantage of, as I did. Also, surely don't miss a bill it could cost you.

billing
I had purchased a bundle deal that was for 2 years. When it expires they don't let you know until your bill comes and it is $60-$70 higher than the previous bill. I talk to someone at Time Warner and he tells me to pay $158 of the $202 bill and we (TWC) will catch it up later after I signed up for a new package. Ok I do this and on my next bill it says $43.20 DUE NOW. I call again and was told this is Ok it will be adjusted. Now my next bill has a $7 late fee attached to it. I call again and they told me it was because I didn't pay the whole bill. I had the persons name that told me to pay partial bill and date but, no not these idiots. I hate satellite but it looks like that is the way I'm heading. Way to go Time Warner lose $1896 dollars a year for $7 charge.

Service Quality
I've had the cable go out in the same way three different times. I get to customer service right away. But eventually, I have the same problem. They give me some song and dance about something technical, re-boot the box and change a setting, but eventually, it happens again. I'm switching to AT&T Uverse.

Bad service
The customer service rep tell us that the billing date on the bill isn't correct and the balance is due from last month. I showed the customer service rep I paid payments so how is this possible? I then ask so your telling me the billing dates on the bill what you are charging me for your saying that's not correct that the billing is being charged for a bill I already paid she said yes. I said so I am being charged for services I don't have she said yes I said can I get my bill fixed I am tired of having this problem every single month. She ignored us and said my computer shows you only contacted our company once in Nov and that has been it. I said miss I been contacting your company not on in Nov but months before that as well and all the time after that. She pretty much out right called us a liar. As soon as another company is available in our area we will most likely change. Time Warner does not respond nor fix their mistakes in a timely manner. They offer no service after business hours even if it was their fault. It is extremely difficult to get a response from them. We have not had a very good experience with this company and would not recommend them.

Customer Service
I HAD ENOUGH!!!
I have been a Comcast(Now, Time Warner) for over 15 years. For the last 4 months, my I have been getting a lot of dropped connections, then unable to to connect online for several hours or sometimes days. I have called their customer service with this issue and always been told that they will send a tech to my resident. I had emphasized to them that it's no use if the come over when my internet is working at the time. They are willing to check the problem at their own convenience but not mine(when the internet is not working). I know that it's not my modem, I replaced it a couple of times. Hard wiring my connection doesn't help either. One of the techs that came to my house told me that they have an on call tech to handle this issue and advised me to ask for it when the problem occurs, I tried but fell into deft ears. I had asked them why they keep sending a tech to my house when my internet is working because the techs will only tell me it's working and there is nothing to fix. DUH!
I also tried to discontinue my service several times and got transferred to their retention department. This department will offer you a good deal to keep your business. I took the bait a few times because of the quality of the product(very fast!!, when it's working). On my last call, I gave them an option. I told them I will keep the service if you can send a tech right now, if not, then cancel my subscription. They chose to cancel my subscription.
I really liked Time Warner speed compared to AT&T(my back up) but the customer service to resolve my ongoing issue got me frustrated and furious. SO, THAT"S ENOUGH!!!

Service Out Again
or last two weeks in Los Angeles, internet service connection has again been variable. This weekend, nearly completely unavailable. Consumers need other choices . CalledTWC. A service technician will need to inspect modem and cable lines. All of the outages--TV, phone and internet are wasteful and costly.

Poor Customer care
After many years of mediocre signals, i had gone to HD service. Then the real poor quality started. I have had to change the HD box several times, techs to house, new wiring, new connections etc. Recently I again swithched the box due to missing channels, to no avail. I waited 5 days for a service call- the first available date. Tech arrives and swaps out a splitter. He leaves and a few days later the box continually reboots, now i have to wait 6 days and take off 1/2 a day to wait around the house. No Tech arrives and the call center advises that I had canceled the appointment. They apologize and offer to reschedule 5 days from now and WOW a $20 credit. No offer to speed up a service call. I AM FINALLY DONE. Only after using the "D" word- Direct TV do they offer to credit me the time i havent' had service, which will be going on 11 days. They just simply don't get it.

Bill Pay Express
I have been a customer of Time Warner Cable for 15 years. They seem to think they are the only show in town. I am currently looking for a new cable/internet service provider due to the overwhelming lack of customer support provided by Time Warner. I'd been successfully paying my cable bill through an online bill pay service for several years. Time Warner stopped accepting payment from this serviced so that customers would be "encouraged" to use thier Pay Express service. Since that time my payments have been late every month. With Pay Express I am not allowed to schedule my payment therefore, I have to pay on or before the due date (which I can not chose). I am a state employee and paid once a month. I tried paying early, but that just caused my billing cycle to change. If I pay on the due date, the account is deemed late and charged accordingly. Where's the "Express" in that? They say that my best payment option would be to allow them to draft whatever they see fit from my banking account each month. But I don't agree. Frankly, I think the whole thing is a scam. I am disappointed and will find a company with fair trade practices with whom I can do business. Time Warner you are not the only show in town.

Incompetence totally
My problem with TWC started on Nov 1st 2008 when I moved into my new home. It is 480 Feet off the road and TWC installed 560 of cable, even after telling me that 400 feet of cable was hard to get a signal through. I went by what they had done after all they are suppose to be the professionals. I made multiple calls to TWC after moving in because my signal was bad and they would just say they were working in the area or they would refresh my boxes, which seemed to help for periods of time. But I live alone and rarely used more than one service at a time, So I really never noticed a problem just glitches and things when the phone would ring or if i was uploading an upgrade for a game or something the phone would cut off every few min even down to every few seconds. In June of 2009 just 6 1/2 months of living here I was Hit from behind in my truck while i was working by someone on their cell phone. I sustained many injuries and the worst one was to my head. I could no longer watch a regular TV any more because for some reason i could see the frame works flashing down and it would make me pass out. I was in 3 times a day therepy and having head injections through my forehead and temples and soft spot and such it hurt so bad, When i would get home all i wanted to do was cry and sit in the dark. My TV of course was an old one so I did not watch TV/Internet again until May 2010. That was when for a present i was given a 46" LCD TV I was so happy That I could finally catch up on my shows lol. I even went and got the HD box and everything, soon as its all installed and ready to go "BOOM" half picture, words blurring together I have plenty of Videos, Audios and such that they wont even look at. So i started calling them to get it fixed and also my Pricelock guarantee that they would not honor even though I had fullfilled my part of the contract and they are the ones who mailed it to me, It took them 2 weeks and still could not figure out how to bill me even though im standing there with a paper in my hand, that they should be able to print off since they sent it to me. I had to finally step up and say hey since you cant figure it out "Managers" just throw me on the 33, 33, 33 deal on the TV right now and they did in just less that 30 min probably (WoW). They started to work on my house and found that i was receiving a -17 signal coming into my house. Now for anyone out there i really dont want to pay 166 bucks a month for a -17 signal when im suppose to have super turbo boost... The wire running to my house was no bigger than a pencil and the "New Ones (x)6" were all bigger than 2 or 3 fingers put together... Thats when they started cutting the lines of the 2 house's in front of me. So they would come out to fix their lines and cut mine then fix mine and cut theirs again this happened 6 times over 6 months right at christmas too. I have lost over 2000 dollars on my pay check due to having to be off days for them to be here and the 5 hours they were here the day after Thanksgiving on a sunday when i wanted to be a church. And especially the days where they dont show up and when you call in they want you to take another day off work... How am I to pay the bill if I cannot work because TWC is at my house all the time it just doesnt make any sense. They dug 3 times before they ever sent out a locator and when one finally showed up they painted their marks on top of the snow... One question kept popping up from them and it was "How can we make you happy and fix this" I could not believe what I was hearing, how can they not know how to fix the problem they created. Honor your contract you sent to me that was underlined "you don't have to do a thing" and yes they used slang I could not believe it. In a business like theirs they should be a little more cafeful wording with their contracts. And second give me the correct equipment and such to run the service that I am paying for is that to much to ask? BUT!!! all i have gotten is the run around, threatend, hung up on, and called names, and a few other things. They did not know I had video everytime they were working at my house, even when they were inside my house the cameras were rolling ^^. (2nd) One of the people from TWC that is handling the BBB complaint hung up on me tonight (I have it all recorded), this is after a call from the same department the day before on a wrong number. They have been given the number 40 times or more to call instead of the one they did and I have personally witnessed them put the number in as the prime number to call and they still dont so that is total harassment, but i still talked with them and they said they would not honor the terms I was asked to give them from the BBB so I am going to rebut their claims. They say they did not cut or disrupt my neighbors lines and such which were also credited on their bills and the horrible landscaping now will prove other wise lol. They say there was nothing wrong with my service even when one of the Managers was here and saw the TV box rebooting every 8 minutes, but on their report they have they stated they remove my radio shack wires i had put in... This is after they had been here numerous times and had installed the wires themselves. I had the bag and receipt from the HD box i had received from them and the wires laid out on my couch and everything ready for the tech to fix my problem and the tech came with out any of the equipment that was listed on the wrok order. The resposnse from the tech while i was on the phone with TWC customer service he would not call and they would not call the tech was "Where am I gonna get new boxes on sunday"... In the middle of a conversation with the tech about my service the tech's personal phone rang and the tech answered it while i was in mid sentenceand walked out of the house for 22 min 12 sec then the tech brought up a beat up HD cable box (all the tech had in the van) and hooked it up to my TV in the bedroom where I dont even watch TV, this is the same tech that registered my -17 signal and had the new wire scheduled to be installed. I was told tonight by the person from TWC handling the BBB complaint that I was a complaining customer they were just giving me new stuff to make me happy and there was nothing wrong with my service -- My service was finally almost fully restored on this last sunday 2-20-11. I have been credited from the top people in TWC over this area and if that doesnt say something i dont know what does around 500 dollars so far but i have not had regular service for 6 months so why was i receiving past due bills even though i had completed my renewal contract and they were working on my service? I have given you have of the story so far I have videos, audios and recording from them and they are still denying it all. Someone dropped the ball and they just kept of kicking it I guess, and now they think they can just sweep me under the rug? Well They have never met the likes of me before, I have my soapbox to stand on and a voice that can be heard. We allow them to be here and we can just as easily as a majority kick em out. After all look how long it tok us to agree on the new FedX Hub ^^. I say treat us like people again and not numbers and maybe we will begin building trust in TWC again. Thank you for reading my post I have plenty more information and will be adding it tomorrow this is enough for tonight they have already taken up 2 years and 6 months of my life I refuse to give them more than this tonight.

TW cheated me
time warner cheated me...worst experience I have had until...they promised me a new cable package and asked me to move from my original cable package..it all worked for a day and then the channels stopped...when I call them they tell that the new package doesn't include what was promised by them initially...i escalated it to the supervisor and he tells that I cant move back to my original package as it doesn't exist and asks me to pay a huge amount for the same..I ended up paying 35$ more per month for their mistake..its not the amount that concerns me but the feeling of getting openly cheated and that I have no choice, as my apartment support only TW cable.
