Last year I briefly entered into a professional contract with CHL Marketing, also known as timesharemls.org and timesharefsbo.com. I was to open a telemarketing room in Tennessee and sales the company's timeshare resale services. Before entering into this agreement I researched the company and at the time felt comfortable with working with them. Later I realized my research was not nearly good enough.
After less than one week of being open and having some of the company's top brass fly up from Orlando and train my people on the phones it as painfully apparent the only way to successfuly sell their or any timeshare resale service was to knowingly mislead and misrepresent the company and what it could actually do. I spoke to the the General Manager of the company about my and my employee's concerns regarding this and he told me "would you rather have integrity and broke or lie and make money?". At this point I ended my association with his company. However, not before being able to monitor his "best" Florida reps on the phone via the company VoIP system and recording several pitches they made.
One of the key tactics they used was that there was a timeshare showcase coming up in Orlando that weekend and the inventory manager told them to find timeshare owners with a paticualr resort (didn't matter whcih one, whatever resort the person on the phone owned was the "hot" resort that they needed for the weekend) and do whatever it took to get that property in the inventory. Whatever it took meant selling the desperate timeshare owner the listing service for anywhere from $400 to $1, 000--basically whatever they could get from the owner. The sales rep then said we can have your unit sold by this weekend--don't you want (insert some over inflated price here) for your property? This is just one of the many misleading and high pressure tactics they use.
My goal is to make more and more people aware of the fraudulent company. Many people have caught on to the reslae industry scam buy they are still selling their worthless listing service to hundreds of people each week. Since I have parted ways with them they have added over 4, 000 new listings to their website in 4 months. That's a revenue of at least 2 millison dollars!
If you do a search on these or any resale company please type scam after the company name to find what negative info is out there on them. I know timesharemls.org and timesharefsbo.com have done a great job in flooding the search engines with their company links if you just search via their name without scam typed at the end.
Be careful out there.
