this was just a terrible counselor...would recommend for people to stay away. I went to her to get counseling dealing with abuse and other things...when I first went to her, the first two sessions...she seemed caring and understanding and said she would tell me things on how to gain empowerment, deal with abusers, set boundaries etc...it all sounded pretty good. But then the 3rd appt...she changed...and was just weird...she wasn't helpful, her session was weird and she gave no help or insight, despite me asking and trying to pry help or information from her...all in all it seemed as if she was screwing with my head more than anything, and purposely trying to confuse me more, and actually not help me. I gave her a few more chances thinking, maybe shes having an off day or something else is going on...but every session I went to was the same---weird off topics, dead ends, no help, and mostly me leaving very confused and feeling much worse off than when I went...personally I think she was just one big mind f*...I asked her many times for the "help advice info" she claimed she would give in the 1st two sessions...she still wouldnt give it or cared to--instead her last statements were "its very VERY VERY VERRRRY difficult to get ur power back from an abuser" huh? I was looking for encouragement and help not some low life telling me its difficult to impossible to get help---when that in fact was a totally false discouraging and negative statement...she made this statement again...very boldly...as to really try to sink the negativiity in---she was just terrible...you'd think at the center for indepenednt living...the counselors would at least be humane people trying to help others-- they aren't...they try to screw over people coming in for help...the only positive was that she was already ready to schedule an appt for you-- but an appt for what...to get abused/messed with more? like luring someone into a lion's den basically...that's what it felt like...and what it was.. .dont go to this person if you need help...you will only leave more confused and they will try to screw you up more...people like this who try to damage those who are in crisis.. are just really messed up people...beware...
