Tire Kingdom Reviews

Trevor February 25, 2009
Bad tires, beware
I have been a customer of Tire Kingdom since 2003. I purchased four tires in 2003. In approximately three years, March 18, 2006 I returned for a tire repair and was told I needed four new tires. I bought four new tires again, with extended warranty and lifetime alignment. After doing research, I realized that I was buying tires every three years. This should not be, I would expect this if I purchased used tires. In fact, I was actually told a few months ago that I needed tires, at that time the tires were two years old. I also found out that they put the wrong size tire on my SUV Grand Jeep Cherokee and the tire that was recommended was not recommended for a SUV . I am unhappy with the quality tires and the unprofessional decisions made by you staff. I relied on them to give me professional advice. I cannot afford to keep spending over $400.00 on tires every three years. I went to store # 63 on January 6, 2009 at 6:30pm to get a tire change. The tire could not be repaired so they put the spare on Carmen Discepola was helpful. On January 14, 2009 I called Tire Kingdomâ??s corporate office and expressed my concerns, I was told someone would get back to me but I have not been contacted. I do realize you have other customers but my vehicle is making noises because of the spare tire and the tread on the other tires. My vehicle have never preformed so poorly. I need a resolution to this problem ASAP.

Misleading Promos
I have a problem with a purchase of tires from you store at 1014 S U.S.
Hwy 301, Brandon, Fl. So I am writing you this letter for you assistance

in making things right.
This is the situation: In August my husband bought 3 tires from your
store and at the time of purchase he was told he would get the buy 3 get

1 free deal. At that time we didn't need the 4th tire so when he was
checking out he was told he could come back at any time and get it. So
he went back on February 13 to get one of our other tires fixed because
we found a nail in it and we have always purchase the road hazard
warranty for our tires. So at that time my husband said can I go ahead
and get my other free tire for my car and explained to the man at the
counter about what was told to him at the time of purchase. Rich then
informed him that he would take care of the tire with the nail, but
would not give us our other tire for free because he said it was never
offered on those tires. So on that day I called 1-800-926-8473 and ask
for the area manager to call me back about this. Now it is Monday and I
still haven't gotten a call back. I call the store back and spoke with
Rich who tells me he will send an email to his manager and ask him to
call me. Chris the area manager (who never gave his last name) finally
calls my husband back and tells him that he would not give him the tire
for free that we were promised. So now I am having to call Chris about
this issue and he says the same thing to me. He then says to me that he
can give me a discount but he isn't sure so he said he would have to
call me back about it. He calls me back and informs me that he will sell

me that tire at cost which would be $200.00 and that would he would wave

the installation charges and also include the road hazard but that would

be all he could do. I advised him that was not what was offered to my
husband when he made the original purchase Chris then proceeds to tell
me that he thinks maybe my husband may have misunderstood what was said
to him. Normally I would understand that, but since my husband is a
Service Manager and has been in the automotive field for over 20 years,
he clearly understood he was told it was buy 3 get 1 free. After
speaking with Chris and feeling very insulted by what he said about my
husband, he then continues to question me on why it has been 9 months
(which it hasn't been that long) and now all of sudden I am bringing
this up and then starts to ask me if I even know who the store manager
was at that time. I said I believe it was Bobby and the manager before
him was name Troy. At this point I am very upset with Chris and his
comments and questions towards me. The conversation ended with Chris
telling me that was all he could offer and I explained that I didn't
feel it was satisfactory and that I would be making contact to the
corporate office about my concerns.
I have been a customer of Tire Kingdom's since at least 1997. You should

be able to pull records by our last name we have bought tires for many
of our cars at your stores. Here is a small list of some of the stores
we have gone to Winter Haven, Land O' Lakes, West Hillsborough Ave,
Plant City, N. Dale Mabry, and Brandon. I feel like it is very important

for me to make you aware of this situation and the resolution I feel is
justified to keep me as a customer. Your stores have always had a good
reputation with us and I trust that you will want to keep a customer
happy. I see two options:
1. I want my new tire. Which is a Mich Pilot Sport A/S 235/50ZR18
and I
am willing to pay for the road hazard warranty, mounting, balancing and
disposal fees which would be a total of $ 48.99.

2. Or you can completely lose me as a customer.

Sincerely,
Robin & Todd McVicker

SAGA CONTINUES
THIS IS A CONTINUATION TO MY COMPLAINT ON 2/2/09

AFTER COUNTLESS HOURS SPENT AT TIRE KINGDOM, AND BEING SENT TO ANOTHER TIRE KINGDOM WHERE SUPPOSELY THERE WAS A MASTER MECHANIC NAMED GUS. NOW THE CAR HAS A NOISE WHEN I BREAK THAT WAS NOT THERE PRIOR TO MY ORIGINAL VISIT TO TIRE KINGDOM ON US 19 AND THEN EAST LAKE ROAD. IT TOOK 5 VISITS AND AN INSTALLATION OF A PART TO FINALLY GET IT TO STOP STEERING TO THE RIGHT (YES I PAID FOR ALIGNMENT ON THE INITIAL VISIT) . IN ALL FAIRNESS I MUST SAY THE MANAGER AT THE EASTLAKE RD STORE INHERITED THE PROBLEM. BUT IN ADJUSTING ONE THING SOMETHING ELSE WAS MESSED UP. I AM AWARE IT IS A'97 CAR THE IMPORTANT POINT IS, IT WAS NOT STEERING TO THE RIGHT, NOR DID IT HAVE ANY NOISES. BEFORE MY VISIT TO TIRE KINGDOM ON 1/12/09. PEOPLE!!! DO NOT LET YOURSELF AS I DID, BE CONVINCED YOU NEED PARTS REPLACED. IN MY CASE THEY WERE STRUTS.

Gasoline Redemption
On 10/13/08 I had my car serviced at Tire Kingdom and due to amount of money I spent ($730.57) I was advised I was entitled to receive up to FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS in gas or merchandise from the brand gas station of my choice and was given an activitation code FGR6741041600. Companies offering this promotion were NTB, Merchant's and Tire Kingdom.

All I needed to do was mail in $100 in receipts on gas purchased within the month. I have a letter that was mailed to me from the Secure Gas Redemption place, with vouchers that I needed to return each month. I was to mail them to FREE GAS, 14100 Walsingham Rd Ste 36 #12, Largo FL 33774

On 1/26/09, after numerous calls (1-800-514-0366) as the phone line was busy, I was successful in reaching a representative (Nick) who in turn told me my 1st voucher was in the mail and I should have it by Friday of that week.

As nothing as come to date I tried calling the same number back and am now being told on the phone that this number is INVALID, therefore I went on the website that is listed on my paperwork for any questions ( www.SecureGasRedemtion.com/faq.asp ) and am now being advised that this is a SCAM.

Could you please assist. I have all my paperwork advising that I was entitled to $500 in free gas.

Thank You,
Colleen Roy

SERVICE NOT NEEDED
On Jan 12, 2009, I went to Tire Kingdom in Palm Harbor, Fl., for a routine oil change. I asked that the two front tires be checked. Once the ticket had been written up I asked If I should stay, I was told I could leave. I later received a call from the service manager Greg Deel, ( not sure how to spell it).
He informed me I needed 4 struts @ $119.99 each not including labor. I replied I was not interested it is a '97 Chrysler and did'nt know how much longer I would keep the car. He proceeded to convince me by telling me mechanically it was fine and that he would charge me for 3 and install 4 struts. I recevied a credit for $88.00 not $119.00. He ( service manager) also said keep in mind it's 2 car payments. He said he would rotate the 2 back tires to the front they are new, and the old to the back. $874.00, later my car has not driven the way it did when I drove in on 1/12/09. I was charged for aligment on 1/12, and after 2 additional visits 1/23 & 1/26 the car pulls to the right. Hours spent at Tire Kingdon 1/12 -1/26, 9hours 45 min. My car is still pulling to the right. I placed a call on 1/23, to customer service requesting the name of the district manager, I was told they were not privy to that information. Ashley, customer service rep told me the complaint had been documented and I would be receiving an e-mail I'm still waiting. By the way on the 1/23 visit the service manager told me the car had been re-aligned but they could not find the reason for the car to pull to the right. " I probably needed to new 2 tires, " what!!! that is probably all I needed to begin with, I could have spent approximately $200 as opposed to $874.00. The manager Aaron Djean was not there at the time but I called him later, he told me he could understand my frustation, and would compensate me with tires.
I returned on 1/26, on that day, the manager informed me the old tires were fine and they did not need to be changed. It is not about the tires, it is about these people who work at these centers, and push services down your throat.
I don't mind paying for service if it is received. On 12/20/07, I went to this Tire KIngdon with a problem it was taken care of cost $1, 493.01, no complaints, 4/24/08, new brakes and pads installed $637.67 no complaints, 8/03/08 vavle cover gaskets, oil change $307.82 no complaints. My point is I am not complaning now to complain. I feel I was forced to pay for parts & service I did not need. In addition the 2 tires that were new, were installed at Tire Plus 9/08 & 10/08, I was not told then I needed struts. I am a 67 year old female and I was taken advantage of by being convinced I needed these parts. I should have know much better, they are in the business of selling and need to meet their sale quotas one way or the other. In the past I went to them with a problem, this time I went in for a routine oil change. Also the other time there was a different manger Timothy Hurst. I have also requested and received a form from the BBB which I will be sending to BBB.
After the 1/26 visit, the next morning driving to work I called Aaron Dejean store manager, told him the car was still pulling to the right, he told me to bring it in again. How many more hours should I waste at Tire KIngdon? They don't seem to know what they are doing. But of course ! I was already charged on 1/12/09, they do not want to spend time on a do over, where they can't charge for the labor. Also the last two times, I have been there I have requested a copy of an invoice showing what was done at N/C both times they have not given me one telling me it's not needed it's not in the computer. What kind of business is this? then people wonder why jobs are sent overseas. I am all for American jobs, and made in America. I am not for shoddy work and being charged for it. I was charged $270.00 for strut labor, $79.99 alignment and it is not aligned. $476.96 struts, $27.00 oil, shop fees $30.00 taxes, by the time all is said and done $875.00., and my car pulls to the right where it drove straight before 1/09/09

Scam/ Ripoff
I went into Tire Kingdom today to get two new tires. I purchased the other two 3 months ago. When I went in, I told them that I needed the two new ones put on the front, the front semi-new ones moved to the back, and the back ones gone. Then, I wanted an alignment (which I got scammed into for a ONE YEAR alignment when I purchased the first two).

Anyway, an hour later, I got a call that I need new brakes, brake flush because the fluid was contaminated (?), new struts on the back tires (bull), and I needed to replace the other two tires that I JUST replaced 3 months prior with them.

I got on the Chevy website and got the specs for my car. I have a 2007 HHR and the date I went into the shop was 12/2008. First let me say, my brakes are fine, my brakes didn't need to be flushed or anything like that, the other tires were perfectly fine, and finally the clincher -- I DON"T HAVE struts on the back of my car. According to a certified chevy mechanic, I have a transion beam ( a solid beam attached to the chassis) and springs on the back of my car. I DONT EVEN HAVE struts in the back. He tried to scam me.

BEWARE FEMALES. They really tried to get $1500.00 out of a $200.00 job.

FYI - As per another mechanic, brakes, springs, front struts, tires, etc., are in perfect working order.

BEWARE RIPOFF!!!
