discriminatory practices
Discriminatory practices and inability to fulfill pre-confirmed orders puts this company on the top of my list of unsavory online retailers. It is a German company with a front address in Oregon. They refused to accept my valid credit cards because I have an unusual name. Five days after accepting my order, they emailed me saying that they would only accept paypal. I called them personally to prove that I am a legitimate customer, they refused to discuss the matter. I will take a good old American company anyday over these nazis.

misinformation
I am not satisfied with the way tires-easy.com does business. The information about prices for installation is completely wrong. I claim that this information is part of the product that tires-easy sells. The website says to "- Please make sure that you show your invoice at the Installer. This proves that you are a tires-easy customer and will get you better deals. - Please contact the Installer in advance to arrange an appointment." The installation price on their website is given as $11 per tire + $2 disposal fee. I contacted the mechanic before I went to have them installed (but unfortunately after I ordered the tires). The mechanic is irritated that tires-easy sends customers who think that the installation price on the website is correct. The tires-easy representative actually said it was my responsibility to check the installation prices BEFORE even ordering them and that they are not responsible for the accuracy of the installation prices! Then why bother with "fittng station partners" at all?? Caveat emptor. I cancelled the order and the confirmation said that the reason for cancellation was "Will be cancelled, the wrong tire was ordered." They are automated and don't attend to details. And when they do find a mistake, the customer ends up paying for it.

Bait & Switch
I placed an order for 4 tires on 01/04/09. I pre-authorized my ship-to address with my credit card company to alleviate any problems in that regard.
A week later, a rep from the company called to tell me the tires I ordered (which the website said was at a stock of >40) were out of stock, and did not know when they would be back in. I asked when they would update their site to reflect this, he said their site was up to date.

01/13/09 I looked at the site, said stock was >40 again. I called, happened to speak to the same rep that I canceled my previous order with. I asked if the tires I wanted were in stock, he looked them up and said yes.

I got my quote. It was $80 more than my first order. The price went up roughly $5 per tire & the shipping cost doubled. I asked if I could uncancel my previous order, as they do in fact have the tires in, they said no, that order was canceled.

The rep did not speak/comprehend english that well, which made it frustrating to deal with them. This unethical business practice of selling you an item for one price, realizing you charged too little, saying the product is out of stock, but then list the items for a huge mark up the NEXT DAY is just insane.
