Fraud and Deception
This dating service contacted me by phone after I came across their website and I agreed to listen to a free presentation of their services. The sales agent, Kathy, was very persuasive and convinced me that they would be able to match me with compatible men for dating. I explained that I had African American children and grandchildren and I preferred younger men, having lived with someone 14 years younger than me for the past 20 years. I explained I should not be matched with caucasian men who are racist or right wing politically or older men with health problems. Kathy said we would start at age 60. The first potential match was with a 70 year old caucasian man with health problems that is a member of the Tea Party! Clearly not someone I am remotely interested in and cleverly arranged after the 3 day grace period to cancel their service. The matchmaker, Heather, wanted me to meet him, even after I objected, so they could better "match" me in the future with feedback I was supposed to provide, although I had already clearly provide sufficient information in the initial interview. This would check off one of the 18 matches I was supposed to receive for the $2, 599.99 I paid the company. Heather told me that they don't consider political compatibility because their company is based in Oklahoma and that's not important there, but it's important to me! I have written and faxed letters to the company trying to reason with them about a refund, but this company is clearly only interested in getting money however they can, without providing satisfactory services to their customers. I have not heard from the company since Dec. 5, 2010 when we last spoke about my dissatisfaction with the first match, other than a letter from the headquarters on Dec. 13, summarily dismissing my request for a refund. I have learned through Internet searches of numerous customer complaints that this company has been defrauding people for years and has changed their name to avoid the bad publicity over their practices. Is there anything else I can do? I am out a lot of money and feel I have been defrauded by this company.
