Got the TomTom for Christmas. Went on a trip last week and tried to use it for the first time. I tried to update the maps online and it didn't finish installing so I aborted after it hung for 20 minutes. We get on the road and it says no maps found. At our hotel we had wireless access so we tried to update it again three times. It successfully updated, but still didn't work. Tom Tom says this is because it was a wireless connection, bullshit.
Tom Tom says they can only replace it with a refurbished piece of crap because its been more than 30 days. If I wanted a refurb unit I could have bought one for half price. Nice to know their product doesn't work out of the box and they won' t stand behind it. I told them I would try to update from a wired connection and they sent me the email below saying the problem has been resolved. Lying bastards.
