Re: Student ID # 345976
To whom it may concern:
This is in response to the last letter I received today, dated January 19, 2010. I’ve left countless messages, to Mel Ness, concerning this matter. I have never received a return call.
I was sent a bill from the collections department. It was confirmed with Indira Ball, with a few witnesses present, that I was fully paid up and everything was filled out and completed. I have since discovered that my Pell Grant application form was not signed. I submitted and signed every document needed; including submitting my parent’s personal financial information, at least three times each. This issue arose months after I transferred from Touro.
In addition, my transcript from Reishit Yerushalayim, was submitted a number of times and sat on Avraham Rothman’s desk for a full semester. When he finally did his two minute job, he was negligent in how it was recorded. Steve Toplin, from the Admissions Office promised Rav Jay Marcus of Reishit Yerushalayim, that my admission to Touro will be retroactive to the Israel program and my grades recorded accordingly. As of now, I still do not have those credits assigned properly. This is causing me enormous problems with the school I transferred to and it will cost me hundreds of dollars to rectify this matter alone. In addition, I am still a non-degree student because of this and can’t get scholarships due to Touro’s negligence. The way I calculate it, Touro owes me 2-3 thousand dollars to date.
I transferred out of Touro because it was a nightmare dealing with the bureaucracy, the negligence and incompetence. As a result, I left my jobs in New York and went back to Baltimore.
This is what I DEMAND from Touro: This matter will be dropped immediately; and Touro will correct my grades from Reishit Yerushalayim and assign my grades properly.
