Poor Business Practice
I'm not one to ususally complain a lot, but I've just had my THIRD bad experience with this company and want to warn others.
1. A few years ago, I brought my car in for two new front tires. There was no one in the store, but I waited over an hour and a half. I had to go back into the garage to find out what was going on. It turns out the technician had taken my car for a road test and hit another parked car with it. They were waiting for a supervisor to show up to figure out what to do, but didn't even bother to tell me. When the supervisor did show up, he told me it was my fault because my brakes were worn out ( a complete lie). The damage to my car was minor so I settled for getting the two tires for free and popped the dent myself.
2. In 2010 I had four new tires installed on a different car. Again, it took forever. Finally the technician came out (he could barely speak English) and explained that he couldn't finish the alignment because he couldn't loosen the clamp on the tie rod. The only tool he had was a worn out Vice Grip pliers! We agreed that I would take the car elsewhere to get the clamp loose and return for the alignment. A couple of weeks later, when I finally had time, I jacked the car up and with the proper wrench loosened the bolt immediately. By then one of the new tires was showing wear on the outside edge because the alignment was so bad. I returned to the store. Not only did they try to charge me for the alignment, but they refused to replace the tire that they screwed up.
3. Today, I got a nail in one of the same set of tires. I went over to take advantage of my "free" road hazard guaranty. They wouldn't fix it because the OTHER tire, that they screwed up, showed wear on the edge. The point being that they wanted to replace the OTHER tire in order to fix the flat one. And since they won't replace a single tire, I would probably have to buy a pair.
The bottom line here is that these people are obviously rip off artists. I put a phone call in to their corporate office over an hour ago, no one has called back. Your best bet is to STAY AWAY from them, even thought their prices are attractive. You'll wind up paying more in the end

Damaged factory rims
So, I bought a wheel and tire package from this company in the winter of 2010. I was buying a winter tire to put on my factory Toyota Tacoma rims, and putting my stock tires on the new wheels. I brought my new truck into the shop with 1500 miles on it with NOTHING wrong at the time. After they put my winter tires on the factory wheels, I noticed that there were scratches where the old tire weights were. I told my salesman and actually showed him the problem. I took pictures with my digital camera and asked if they would have them refinished. I didn't want anything for free, I just wanted them to do the right thing by fixing what they damaged. So the salesman told me that he would have them refinished at no cost to me. He calls me a week later and tells me that his store manager and the regional manager refuse to pay for the refinishing. STAY AWAY FROM TOWN FAIR TIRE if you value your hard earned money. I will never go back to this company again.

Shoddy business practices
On Saturday April 9 my son Christopher brought his car in to have the snow tires dismounted and the summer tires mounted and balanced. The summer tires had only 9, 000 miles on them. I personally carried the summer tires to his car and inspected them. They had at least 1/4" of perfect tread on them and were in impeccable condition.
The service manager Ron told my son that he needed four brand new tires because his were bald, which is pure rubbish. I called Ron and he repeated to me that the tires were bald. See the pictures below for what he claimed were 'bald' tires.
I believe that the Shrewsbury center was trying to take advantage of a clueless young man who has no experience with what tires should look like.
I have been a Town Fair customer for many years, and have spent over $5000 on tires there, but I will never set foot in this establishment again. They have lost a customer for life.

Pathetic Store
I too went BACK to Town Spare Tire and regret it. I vowed after my last dealing with the little punks and shoddy work and lying to me like I'm an 18 year old girl ( I'm fifty year old man who's done mechanical work, I own a Tree business). I went in to get 4 news on my wifes 2001 Lexus and I was talked into buying Toyo's that in the words of the "salesman" were "the best part about these are they're warrantied for 75k miles". I paid the guy $730 asked him if I was all covered, he said yes. Before driving away I looked in the trunk. I had asked THREE times that they take the best of the 4 olds and put it on my spare rim, NOT DONE. So I go back in and it takes another half an hour, this is 3 hours in now, and drive away. An hour later I get on the parkway with my wife in the car and we hear and feel this horrendous rumpling and something dragging on the ground. I get off the parkway and look under the car. They left the shroud hanging off! Not to mention the UNBALANCED tires, I know this because it only did it between 58-67 mph. I immediately take it back so they take the car in and my wife and I walk to get a coffee. After ANOTHER hour and a half the prognosis was, from their "top guy" that I had 2 bent rims so they put them on the back... BULL&&** No REASON or APOLOGY for leaving the shroud off either!!! 115 days later I look at my front passenger side tire one morning and its got a bubble the size of a tennis ball. Btw the rumbling only slightly got better so I KNOW they were not balanced right or NOW they could be defective. I bring it back hearing those words in my head about being warrantied for 75k and instead I get two Jackasses that not only dont go outside to view the bubble but start giving me a tutorial on why potholes cause bubbles. Then they go on to tell me THAT model tire has been discontinued and they ARENT warrantied because I didnt pay $14 a wheel... I LOSE it. I told them they better find out who the little F%%^ was that sold them to me and straighten him out and walked out. I am now going to the "Corporate Office" two towns over and I'm SURE I'll get O satisfaction. Btw, I went on the net to look up these tires and ALL it's sister tires have been RECALLED!!! And now this ones been "discontinued"? Oh, I forgot to say how after he told me they were discontinued he could still get me one for $100. I wanted to punch him right in the face. WARNING-DO NOT USE TOWN "SPARE" TIRE or you'll be sorry.

Is This a Company or a School?
To put it simply, Town Fair Tire is probably THE most immature company I have ever seen. The workers (Mike Pierre, Dave Hayes, etc) act like adolescents and the way they the company handles things is disgusting. They don't get breaks and are "frowned upon" for things such as not going to the annual dinner or yearly trip. They get harassed when out sick and badgered almost on a weekly basis, sometimes for things as stupid as making a phone call. Is this a company or a school? The whole company should do some serious rethinking when it comes to certain situations, as some of the workers are hard-working people trying to do their jobs, having to deal with the other immature workers playing pranks and making plain stupid remarks. The whole company is just ridiculous.

I will never recommend them to anyone and I will never go back
I visited the town fair tire in shrewsbury, MA early last week for a price on tires. First off, I waited for about 7 minutes while all the sales people were screwing around and did not even ask me if I needed help, it’s amazing that they can pay all these people to goof around and not even do their jobs.
I had to ask them if someone could help me, and a sales person named George finally stop texting on his cell phone, and asked me what he could do for me, and I asked him why it took so long for someone to help me when there was no other customers in line, and he told me that I have only been standing there for a minute and it wasn’t a big deal so I informed him that I have been standing there for a long time, so I asked to speak to the manager.
After about another 5 minutes the manager Jason came over and asked what the problem was, and I told him I was extremely aggravated because i have been in the store for 15 minutes and no one wants to help me and he was extremely mean and unprofessional and told me that I just have to wait my turn and I told him I have waited for 15 minutes and there is 7 employees doing nothing and no other customers.
So I just walked out and I heard Jason mumble under his breath that I was a bitch. This is ridiculous and I wanted to smack him in the face, but I just walked out and went to national tire 2 minutes away and had four new tires installed and told them my experience with town fair tire and I will never recommend them to anyone and I will never go back.

Purchased out of roun tires from them.
I purchase a set of Good Year tires from Town Fair Tire for my truck. These tires are $220.00 each. I did not have them mounted and
balanced there because they do not have that good of a reputation there. So I had them mounted and balanced at the dealer where I pur-
chased my car. Ever since I purchased these tires my truck has been shaking. I have had all kinds of things checked out to figure out what it is. I took it to a rim place because I though that it could be bad rims. Turns out rims are fine but when having the tires rebalanced at the rim place they show me and documented that the tires are out of round. So I then go back to Town Fair Tire where I purchased the tires for them to check them out and give me a new set if these are bad. They refuse to even deal with me because I was a cash and carry and that voids the warranty. They absolutely refused to deal with me. They are a goodyear dealer and they cannot re-
fuse to check out the tires and give me a new set if they are bad. I called GoodYear directly and they said they could force them to look at the tires but I did not want to deal with them anymore after what they said to me. They think they are dealing with idiots. Goodyear sent me to another dealer who checked the tires and found that they were indeed out of round. All four tires were replaced no problem and I did not even purchase them there. DO NOT USE TOWN FAIR TIRE IN SALEM N.H.!!!

Stolen GPS
I brought my truck in for service. When I went to pick it up I checked to make sure my GPS was still in the center console and it was missing. When I when in the store manager, Nelson Froia, said that I probably misplaced it or that I let someone borrow it. He suggested that I call the police. I asked for their 800 service number (1800-972-2245) and left.
When I returned home I called I called the police and placed a police report. Then I called their 800 number and spoke with Rich Allen to file a complaint. About a half hour later I get a call from some shuck stating that the store manager wanted to look in my truck and I refused which is completely un true. He argued with me until I finally hung up on him. I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TOWN FAIR TIRE AGAIN IN MY LIFE!!!

Poor Service, damage, Incompetence
Went to the Salem, NH, Town Fair Tire on Friday, Dec. 3rd, 2010 to have 4 new wheels & snow tires mounted on my wife's 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. Dropped off vehicle around 12:30pm, and was called that it was ready at around 5pm. (Someone, I think the manager Chris, was yelling at the person to STOP! - the person talking was translating for the person in the background and told us to come and get the vehicle - it was ready.) So, my wife and I drove down and after about a 10-minute wait someone named Justin came up to serve us. I asked if the car was ready and he said "I don't know where to begin". I had gone to Town Fair against my better judgment as I have had nothing but problems with them in the past. I bought a set of studded snow tires for my '98 Durango from them. The tires work great; the problem is every time I tell them to rotate them they don't. (4 times in a row now) When I had them do an alignment on it the steering wheel was cut 70 degrees to the left. Chris, the manager told me that my "rear wheels were off". The Durango has a solid rear axle, and has never been in accident, so this statement is impossible. So I took it to Sears (paid another $69.95) and they aligned it perfectly and the guy that did it stated that "Town Fair Tire only adjusts the Toe, nothing else. They are just Toe & Go." To get back to my wife's vehicle - it was not ready because they put the new tires on the old rims and that is the condition it was in when we arrived. I exploded at Justin (raising my voice a little - no profanity involved but everyone in the store knew I was furious), informed him of all the above problems with them with my Durango, and told him to refund my money to my credit card and get us out of there. He did that, and wasn't snide but just very apologetic. He took my anger and refunded our money. The car would not be ready to pick up for another 20 minutes so my wife and I went home. They called that it was ready just as we were heading back. We picked it up and Chris, the manager was there and tried to apologize. I told him I was too angry to speak - and he shouted "OK - have a GREAT evening" with a big sarcastic smile. Furthermore, the vehicle only had 3300 miles on it so we told them NOT to align it. Chris wrote this on the work order. So guess what? They aligned it saying it was "a little off." Now, I have to being it back to Salem Hyundai to be aligned again as they are not competent to do alignments. Furthermore, when I took my impact wrench to re-torque the lug nuts, I found that they had scratched every lug nut well on the vehicle when they had removed the wheels. Now, we have 4 scratched wheels and a mis-aligned vehicle that is going to cost us to repair. My advice would be to go to Tire Warhouse instead, I've had them do work on my F-350 and they were much more competent and did not damage my wheels. I will NEVER use Town Fair Tire again for anything. I wouldn't trust them to screw the lid on a jar of peanut butter. My wife has a very busy job and had to take a day off to do this. Now I have to take a day off to take care of it and wait while they do it right at Tire Warehouse. Town Fair Tire should pay us for the alignment, 4 new wheels and our pay we lose for taking a day off. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at any retailer. (Not to mention that now I must do my winter tire changeover on my Durango myself which TFT is supposed to do free for life - I have a bad back, bursitis in my right shoulder and am on heart medications. That's why I paid someone else to do it - but am now screwed.)
