false diagnosis/ mistreatment
My friend took his car in to get his timing belt replaced, his spark plugs replaced, and have his valve gasket replaced. They charges $1300 and took a week and a half to return it. Apon return they had used a tank of gas, and the car ran worse then it ever has before. When we talked to the service manager (first name of Doug) he told my friend that the car is worn out and old and that they will look at it but it is the best it can get. I told the man that the car has only 60, 000 miles and is not worn out. He was rude to me and told me that all of his mechanics looked at it and it is just old. I replied no you need to replace the distributor cap, i can tell because of the missfire. He told me don't tell me how to do his job and told me to leave the dealership. I don't think that Toyota would like to be represented in the way. and action should be taken. btw... it was the distributor cap. The mechanics at lithia toyota are not up to par.

Warranty
I'm very frustrated with Toyota service... for sure I'm not going to reffer this dealer to anybody. First they wanted to charge me houndreds of dollars more then other Toyota place for the same service and now I cant even get the car rental. My Venza just would not start, dead as can be. I know I did not leave any lights on...After jumping I run the car for good 40minutes which seemed to do the trick. few hours letter I was ready to go for my appt, and the car would not start again! This morning (sunday) when I called Toyota they told me that I would have to pay for the rental car!!! I just bought a car a year ago, and I have to pay out of my packet because the car is not working?!! something is very wrong with this picture. I'm stuck and tomorrow I would have to miss work. This is the WORST service and I wish I went with hyundai...

Toyota Service Scam
Got a recall notice for my 2004 Camry. Seat belt tensioner had to be replaced, which was causing the air bag light to stay on. Took it in for the recall service. They called with "bad news". They were unable to reset the sensor in the seat. So I had to pay $125 for them to hook it up to the computer to diagnose the problem. They claimed the computer said the sensor was bad and had to be replaced (for $600), but if they replaced it they would credit the $125 computer diagnostic charge. I told them I didn't have the money for that and they should put it all back together and I would pick it up. 10 minutes later they called back to say they were able to reset the sensor, but I still had to pay the $125 computer fee. It seemed like a scam to me. I paid the $125, took my car back and then called Toyota to complain. (loved that) The local dealership called me and insisted they had done nothing wrong, but as a token of good will they would give me a voucher for my next service visit. (If they did nothing wrong, why give me the voucher?) I used the voucher and will NEVER go to this dealer for service again. Unfortunately, I have been hearing a lot of bad stuff about all the DCH Toyota delerships in the area. Buddy took his Highlander in to the same dealership for service and they "found" lots of things which needed to be repaired: fuel injectors needed cleaning, transmission fluid needed to be flushed, brake pads replaced (at 30, 000 miles?). It's a scam, and they prey on senior citizens especially!!

Very bad 90.000 mile service
I took my 2004 Toyota to SF toyota van ness avenue service place for 90.000 miles service at july .
they did good job. they recommended me to have changed water pump, i said yes. i paid $1337 for 90.000miles service and water pump.they did good job i guessed.i filled their survey and i sent it.i wrote good thing about the service in the survey.
But couple months later, i start having some problem with staring wheel. then problem was gone. then i heard some noise.i opened the hood and there was oil spills on the rihgt side of the engine.And i hear some noise like something boiling on the road.
i called the service and told the problems. It was the last day of three month service warranty.he said if i can bring the car that day they can look.
i was 50 miles from the service and i couldn't make it that day.
The person told me that he could give me an appointment but i had to pay for it. I said i don't want to pay. Even he didn't want to take a look.
My car had no problem before their service.
I used to love my car.I drive it 100 miles a day. he is only three years old.
