WARNING do not buy from Tracy Performance Car Covers in Michigan! Unless you want a poor quality product for a lot of money and lousy customer service. I paid $220.00 for a custom car cover of their best material. It took over a month to arrive and I was appalled at the material which is PAPER that looks like the throw-away bibs dentists use! The enclosed literature said it is a chemically treated PAPER product although their website only calls it material not paper. The company was also clever enough to state on their website that opened packages could not be returned. Until I opened it, how could I know they would send me a PAPER car cover or that it DID NOT FIT?! The back was very tight and hard to get on. But the front was nearly impossible and I stopped when I heard a crack from a mirror. The cover was so tight you could almost read the license plate. I called the company and explained I was not happy to discover their best material was actually a paper product that could not be washed, and that it was too small. They said all they Would do is have me return it and they would cut and add to it. I explained that was not a good solution as seams are the weak point and to add more unnecessary seams was not good especially after I spent a lot of money for a CUSTOM fit car cover. They again said that was all they Would do. Since I had no other recourse, I had to borrow a digital camera so they could see all the bad spots, take pics on 2 days since lighting was wrong on the first, download and print the photos with unfamiliar software, write a letter detailing the bad areas, and explaining that the dimensions (readily available on numerous websites) were wrong for my model year. The company expected me to pack up the car cover and drive to a shipping place and stand in line to return a product that was wrong because of their own mistake. I explained that due to an injury this was not practical and after much argument they reluctantly agreed to have it picked up.

Although the cover fits somewhat better than before, it is still too tight in areas, but most importantly it is still PAPER, inexcusable! But I did not have the time or energy to continue dealing with this. I called the company and asked how to secure the anti theft cable (I have had car covers stolen before) and they said to use the fabric tabs. I replied anyone could just cut those with scissors and that car covers I had seen whether expensive custom or cheap stock had sturdy nylon grommets. She replied that was how they had always done it and was indignant when I suggested a better solution. I asked for a discount explaining I should not have to pay the same price as someone whose cover fit the first time and who did not have to waste all the time and trouble I did of making phone calls, getting pictures, writing a letter, boxing up and returning a cover, having to re-wash the car, etc. She refused to consider this and said all they were willing to do was make the cover fit. She then had the nerve to say it was my fault and that I should have sent them my car dimensions! I said I would have been happy to had I known they would use wrong dimensions but since they only asked for the model and year, I reasonably assumed a company that makes expensive custom car covers would have the correct dimensions that are readily available on the internet. She then HUNG UP ON ME even though I had remained polite despite my frustration with this unreasonable company and no one answered when I called back several times.

So I am stuck with a $220 PAPER CAR COVER THAT DOES NOT FIT RIGHT. I could have gotten a fabric car cover at WalMart for $29! Of course this process has dragged on long enough that I cannot dispute the charge with my credit card company which I am sure was planned.

Please protect yourself and DO NOT BUY from Tracy Performance - an AWFUL COMPANY with LOUSY SERVICE! There are plenty of better ones to choose from.
