SUB :-Plyingof Banned traffic through residential colonies
SIR,
Respectfully, it is submitted that we had noticed a news item in the daily papers in the first week of feb-2011 that entry of tractor trolleys is banned in the union territory of Delhi. It is a welcome step towards controlling avoidable congestion and pollution on Delhi roads .Tractor trolleys are meant to be used for agricultural purpose only and not for commercial transportation and certainly not for plying on narrow streets in residential colonies .Though the entry of these vehicles on Delhi road was banned a long time back and now announced afresh about a couple of month ago, it seems the owners of these vehicles have taken it as lifting of ban on their entry as the frequency of their entry in the colonies has since increased .Besides creating congestion on narrow roads in residential colonies their more frequent and free presence is increasing atmospheric and noise pollution .They also disturb the peace of residents including sick and seniors. These vehicles ply day and night without break.
These vehicles do not display registration numbers and move around with immunity whereas these should be confiscated and occupants detained. The disturbance caused is so much that resident are unable to converse with each other even within their homes .In view of the foregoing it is also requested that densely populated area of Laxmi Nagar, delhi be declared as Silence zone in interest of human inhabitants beside banning the entry of unnecessary vehicles in the this area. Some speed breakers may also be provided.
Thanking you and soliciting the favour of an early action
