Tried to screw me
I called transmissionciti.com for a estimate on the problem with her car. Jess the representative told her that the cost would be no more than 1297.00 for a transmission, and no storage fee if she needed to leave for a couple of weeks to get more money. Then they sent a email with a pdf attachment indicating the fee is 1297.00+ hard parts that no one knows how much they cost and 39.00 a day for storage. This place is a rip off. I called the shop Cottman Transmission in Mundelein where they told my car and told them I was picking the car up. Spoke with Mike who I later found out was a subcontractor, and the owner Lenny doesn't even know this crap is going on. I later received a email from transciti saying they received my signed copy for approval That was never sent. Stay Clear Of These To Companies They Are Working Together!!!

bait & switch company
This is a bait & switch operation...DO NOT USE TRANSMISSIONCITI... They will rip you off. If you need a new trans check around on your own. They are very misleading and LIE LIE LIE. Whatever quote they give you... it will be twice the amount. You will be notified of the new INFLATED price once they have your car in the shop. They tell u there's a lifetime warranty on trans. ANOTHER LIE... but you wont know that either until you pay & pick up your car...then they give you the paper for u to sign stating about the warranty. THEY WILL RIP U OFF. The price will be double than the quote they give you- I guarantee u that. THEY ARE CON ARTISTS. They tell you they wont do any work until you know the price- another lie- they make you pay an exorbitant amount of money to get your car back with no work done, so you u have no choice but to pay. they tore the cv boots takin trans out, & wont pay for that either & Rich hung up on me & wont call me back. DO NOT USE TRANSMISSIONCITI...save your money.

Bate and Switch
Calle don 2/27 got a quote for $1997 not including core parts that may have to be replaced. Shop tore down transmission and discovered core part damage. The new estimate was $4250. Apparently this is done all the time. Many conflicting statements between shop and broker. Don't so business with this company. Find a reputable shop and get the work done, in our case the cost difference was insignificant. Also there are two payments to be made one to broker and one to shop-broker does not take Amex and since Steve Hoffman says they do not take credit card info until they give you the final estimate-do not under any circumstance give them a credit card #-they don't need it according to Mr. Hoffman.
