Once again, Traveler's insurance is trying to pull a fast one. I bit into a black olive pit on a slice of pizza that had black olive SLICES on it. I filed a report with the corporate office of the restaurant. Michael Mason with Traveler's told me on the phone that he needed my Social Security Number. I told him that my attorney told me that I dont have to provide my SSN in order to get paid on a claim, and that by giving that to them, will allow them to access my entire medical history. Mr. Mason said that Medicare passed a new law that I had to give him my SSN. I told him no. He then mailed a letter asking for my SSN, and I responded with NO, and that I would get my attorney involved.
I then contacted the corporate office of the restaurant, and let them know that I will NOT deal with Traveler's because of this, and because of how they treated me in the past.
If enough people would file complaints with the Texas State Insurance Board, this abuse would be reduced or stopped completely.
Take the time to file your complaint against insurance companies like Traveler's and against the doctors that Traveler's pays to make false claims. Stand up for yourself, and you will be standing up for others!.
