Complaint Description:

Purchased home at 22 Stone Mill Lance, 63376 Dec 17, 2010 and selected Travelers Home Owners to cover the home using appraisal data and BAC insurance recommendations. Received a notice in mid Feb, 2011 that replacement costs would go from $149, 000 to $302, 00 twice what the appraiser said it would take to replace the house. Reviewed the data by phone with Traveler's rep who lower the costs of replacement to $287, 000.

We cancelled Travelers effective Feb. 1, 2011 and were told to get a refund check in the mail in two weeks. 17 days later a refund check has not arrived. It almost seems like a "bait and switch" issue and we and the rest of our family do not trust Travelers Home Insurance.

Prior to March 1, 2011 I requested an internet quote for our home on Stone Mill. We selected Hartford for $701 while getting another Travelers quote from a rep in wentzville for $426 a year. See email note below;

Also, if you have the drivers license numbers for all of the drivers on the policy and whether or not you have full coverage or liability. ** Try our annual auto policy option ** Also you may receive quotes from other Traveler's agents as they are very competitive as a company right now. We are a broker and we write at over 20 companies but we were awarded "Traveler's Agency of the year in 2008". Your Desired Resolution:
Full refund for the year for bad repeatedly bad insurance quotes and hardship having to cancel and find another insurance company for the home..
