Well, at the end of 2009 I started being harassed by magazine agencies offering "gifts" in return for fees. This old scam seems to work like this. They record your conversation and every time you say yes or something similar, you are agreeing to pay for something. I will even go as far as saying they will save and edit these recordings to further scam you, but that is a theory.

Anyways, they got me...so, in an effort to stop being harassed over the phone and also to stop paying the $59 a month (followed by a customer service phone call and the payment being returned to me), I cancelled my bank account (not to mention I moved to another state). 6 month later, lo and behold, I receive a notice from the debt collection agency, "Empire Collection Authorities", another well known scam artist. They want $1404.17 paid in full within the next 30 days...yeah, right!

I'm willing to take this as high as it needs to go to get these scammers put in their place!
