Closed Account
Like so many others, my account was closed without any notice. To top it off, I was on vacation (1000 miles from home). I spoke with Tribute on the 7th and 8th to let them know I was going on vacation and would be using my card. After it was closed and I called they said they mailed a letter on the 9th. Could they have not told me on the 8th not to use the card on vacation? I have filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, and the Comptroller of the Currency Administrator of National Banks. I encourage everyone to do the same thing. I was charged $222 a year ago when I got the card, plus the monthly fee, and now I was just charged $100 for the yearly fee for this year. I think they should refund ALL fees, not just prorate the last fee charged.

Cancellation of account
I have had my tribute card just over a year. I have paid all my payments on time and even made several payments in one month. Today I got a notice that my account was closed. I called the company and they told me that it was not a reflection on my credit they were closing everyone's account. somehow this doesn't make sense? can anyone explain what is going on here?
Thanks,
Patti

Bogess Cancellation
We have been in good standings with the Tribute Card Company. Went to use the card and it was declined. I assumed it was a mistake on the vendor's end.
We were not overdrawn or late with our payments. No phone call or nothing from them letting us know that this process was taking place. We received a letter yesterday stating that Tribute was shutting down that program. Call them on the phone was sent to three different departments before we could get the correct person and still could not get a clear explanation when we inquired about the letter.
I know times are hard but give me a break.
Corporations and banks come on now. Do your jobs and handle your business and Give us a break...

Customer Service the Worst
I have been a customer of the First Bank of Delaware ( Tribute Gold Mastercard) for over a year. Had excellent standing, no late payments at any time. Just made a $300.00 payment on 09/02/09. Went to a Target store today, 09/12/09 and my card was denied even though I had $610.00 credit available. Called Customer "No" Service and was told that the First Bank of Delaware had closed all of the Tribute Matercard accounts across the board. They have not sent out any notices to any of their customers and have no mention of this on their website. Lousy business by First Bank of Delaware. STAY AWAY FROM FIRST BANK OF DELAWARE!!

Account closure
To all Tribute MasterCard holders who were unjustly cut off. There is only one recourse. If you have an outstanding balance, let them eat it. That's what I'm going to do and if all the thousands of good customers who were screwed by this arbitrary decision do the same, then they will lose millions of dollars. First Bank of Delaware is already in serious trouble and this will only hasten their demise. Yes, we will take a hit on our credit ratings, but believe me, there are worse things in life considering the current economic climate which is going to leave many of us bruised anyway. Screw Tribute MasterCard. They screwed us.

Card Closure
I am absolutely LIVID, Tribute has dropped my credit limit to $0, dispite the excellent credit I have with them. I notified them today and was told that ALL of the Tribute Card Holders cards are being closed, due to a management decision.
This is absolutely ridiculous, he said you are considered a valued customer with impeccable credit with us and yet in still they have closed "ALL" the cards. They also advised they cannot guarantee the effect that it will have on my credit score (due to the drop in credit limit, owing a balance and creditor closure of card).
I have never received a letter regarding this closure. I am so disappointed, once again this is happening. I have no faith in the banks and credit card industry anymore as they have no accountability and no loyalty to even their most valued customers. What's the purpose of keeping up your credit if the banks are allowed to ruin it and no one is governing them.

lousy customer service
My husband passed away recently and I have been going through his credit cards and cancelling them. Every other company has been easy to deal with - they made a note on the account and will freeze activity until I get a copy of the death certificate. Most of them have told me I don't even owe them any money. (His balances were very small, if anything.)
When I called Tribute to cancel or freeze the account I was told they would not do anything without the death certificate. I can understand that, although they should at least make a note on the account. I then asked them to freeze the upcoming auto payment - they said they could only do that with the authorization of the card holder! It's only a $21.00 payment, but at this time every penny is important! I spoke with two supervisors and they could not have been more unfeeling - no other credit card company treated me this way. It may not sound like much but when you have an unexpected death every $21.00 is very important! I guess to them it is important enough to be cruel to someone who is obviously struggling to get through something.
This company is disgusting!!

Shady practices
I had a Tribute credit card for a year. I always paid my bill on time and more than the minimum payment and was even given two credit limit increases for being a 'good customer'
Last week I accidentally charged $20 over my $500 dollar credit limit. I paid the overage off in a few days. Tribute responded by closing my account and raising my interest rate to 35%!
Basically they were just sitting around waiting for any infraction, however minor, to occur so they could change the card terms and milk as much cash out of me as possible. I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.

unexplained account closing
I have had Tribute Mastercard account going on three years now. As of Nov. 2008 it has been closed. For over a year I paid my account on time and more than the minamum payment. I received credit line increases as they stated they would do if I kept up my payments. In Oct. 08...I read on-line that they were having problems with the mailing address and not to mail your payment to that address. However I had the correct address on the my bill so I sent in my payment on-time. I checked after 5 days to see if it had been posted which was nomal for my account.
After 10 days I called an spoke to a customer rep...she said to wait another 2 business days they had been having problems because of the address mess-up. So I waited another 3 days before checking...no payment had been posted however after this time it was late so the late charges were added. I called back and was informed that the bar code on some of the envelopes were wrong and that some of the envelopes were returned to the customers. Tribute started calling me regularly and wanting a payment...I kept telling them since they were not certain where my check was I woul like to wait a couple of days to see if it was returned to me. I finally after 3 weeks got the check back in the mail and on the envelope was return to sender no such address which was wrong because it was the correct address. Meanwhile they closed my account due to non-payment and no matter what I said it all fell on deaf ears. I had no knowledge that the bar code on the envelope would cause them to refuse my payment...nothing was mentioned on their website about bar codes being wrong just addresses.
I really believe this was a set-up to get rid of customers. As of now the account is closed and I am still paying on it. However last month they obviously sold my account to someone else and have charged me transfer fees which I am disputing...probably to no avail...I imagine I will be stuck with paying it. This is a foreign company that is getting away with charging extreme fees and suckering people into thinking they are helping your credit. WRONG...stay away from them. I certainly hope the new credit card laws will put them out of business for good!
