Overcharged
On Feb 23rd 2008, we went to Tumbleweed to order our regular filet, tossed salad, and twice-bakes. We couldn't get our usual 6 oz because they only have 7 ounce now. It was the squarest filet I've ever seen. The salads was sent out to us without any onion, bacon bits, croutons, and a very thin slice of immature tomato. We didn't complain, we simply removed the tomato and wilted lettuce, and ate what we could. Then our filets and twiced-baked arrived and the potatoes were cold inside. I had requested bacon around my filet and it was missing. The server stated that would be an extra $1. I figured no sense in sending it back. The steak tasted like sirloin not filet. Did they change meat companies? At this point, the manager began slinging clean ashtrays onto the tables (we were the only customers in the smoking section). I asked him if he was bowling and he just look at us and left. I usually bring our out-of-state friends to this restaurant but we not in future. I brought the steak home to my peke dog and she wouldn't even eat it. The only good aspect of this adventure was our server. He has a bright future - he was a very dedicated server. In our area $60.00 for a meal is quite high. We didn't mind paying the price if the food was good but it was ridiculous. I predict the Somerset Tumbleweed will fold in 6 months if something doesn't change.

Very unhappy
I visited the Heath, Ohio Tumbleweed Restaurant approximately 4 weeks ago approximately on 6-1-07. I went there with my son. I asked the waitress for their closest's salad that would compare to a tossed salad. She recommended their wedge salad. To my suprise, she brought out a slice of a salad head and cheese on top. I asked her about the toppings and she said that was all that the salad would have on it. I asked for onion and she finally brought out a few onion slices. This was the beginning of my dissapointment. The waitress was overwelmed with too many customer's. This slowed down the service so much that I was upset. Our meals finally came out over 20 minutes later. A while later, a manager stopped by the table and apoligized for the fighting in the kitchen and as I went to explain my unhappiness, I looked up to see the manager just walking away and going to the next table. This upset me more and then I just left.
I later sent an email to the Tumbleweed Restaurant site at "TellTerryWhatYouThink". I explained my unhappiness and later received a returned email stating that he was unable to respond to my letter because he was attending a golf outing. He also stated that he was forwarding my letter to the store. Four weeks later, I have yet to hear from that store. I then sent another email back to the CEO with"TellTerryWhatYouThink" and stating that I havn't heard anything. His basic response thru the entire writing back and forth has been that he is sorry for taking so long to respond, but he is entitled to take time off because he has worked so hard this year. Not one single time has he apologized for the way that his employees treated me. I just yesterday received an email from the store in Heath, Ohio stating that they were sorry about not responding because of communicational errors. I then sent another email back to the CEO asking him to forward my email response back to the heath store. I just tonite received another returned email from Tumbleweed's CEO stating that he is sorry that Tumbleweed can't accomadate me and that he wishes me luck with finding other restaurants that can accomadate me.
I just returned to him an email stating that I was going to send our email conversations to 6 on your side for the media to run a story. I wrote in the letter that I can't believe that as CEO of the Tumbleweed Restaurant, that he was unable to simply apologize for the way that his employees had treated me. I stated that a simple apology goes a lot further than you think, but instead, he just invited me to go to his competition. I also stated that I don't feel he should be CEO of this company and that his method of customer service is antequated.
Ok, now that I have stated the facts of all the events that took place at the restaurant and responses from a joke of a CEO for Tumbleweed, I feel much better.
