I had a new engine installed at Turnpike 6 months ago. A week later, a part that contected to the motor was broke (they failed to tell us that). A month ago 2 injectors went bad and they swore they fixed the problem. Two weeks later, the wire they left loose, burnt and caused my truck to stop running on the interstate with my 2 yr old with me. They told me it was a fuel pump and wanted 1100.00 to fix it. (they missed the wire) (the wire is something they didn't properly connect during the injector install)Got a 2nd opinion and it was the wire not the pump. They refused to fix it. When you pay 80.00 for a diagnostic, you expect them to actually look at your car. They had it for 4 days and didn't see it. A small mechanic shop found the wire in 5 minutes. Their neglegence could have cost my son's life, my own and possibly someone else's due to the fact that the truck died on the interstate with no warning and no where to pull off. No brakes or power steering at 70 miles per hour. Turnpike also charged me the tow bill because they claim that it wasn't their fault. (it was, they missed connecting a wire). When we brought it to their attention, they were rude and said it was the fuel pump and that it was not their fault. It is really sad that you can't trust anyone anymore to do their job right. I would never take my truck back to them. After spending over 5, 000.00 in six months, you would think they would be able to fix it the right way. I have been stranded 5 times in 6 months due to their inability to properly fix a truck. We are going to make one more attempt to solve this issue with GM before we report it to the better business bureau and to the public through newspapers and TV stations. I am by no means a mechanic but I'm not an ignorant person. I shouldn't be taken advantage of because I am a woman. I guess they didn't know that my husband is a mechanic and that I would be smart enough to have someone else look at it before I let them touch it again. I have found other places that will charge only 589.00 to fix the fuel pump, but that is not the problem. So stay away from dealership services, they will rip you off. The reason we went to a dealership to have a new engine installed and the injectors fixed to begin with is that it is very time consuming and we were under the impression that if it broke, it was under warranty. (just beware, they will find any other reason they can think of just so they don't have to fix the problem you already paid you for so you will have to pay them more)
