First, of all I realize that this site is for complaints, but i have seen a lot of things about tutorvista on here and I wanted to set the record straight. So no, this is not a complaint at all. I am sorry to those of you who feel like you have lost money or been scamed, but this is not a scam and as with every business sometimes money problems happen. Tutorvista is pretty affordable for tutoring. Compared to other tutoring sites I looked at they are half price or even less in some cases. And they offer deals so you get tutoring for even a little less than it is advertised for. They are very nice and helpful as well. Any question you have the tutors will help you with. Sometimes the tutors are unavailable, and that is either due to them all being busy, which if it does happen that takes twenty minutes or less to be fixed, or the tutors will not be there. The times that they are there are based on the times that they have found students use their services the most, and the times are resonable. You can get help about nine hours and the hours are in the evening to early morning. Also, once the tutors are there you can get help until they go home. There is no limit to the amount of help you can get. Whenever you start tutoring, it is a live chat. There is an instant messaging box and a white board so the tutor and student can work problems out together. There are also other things on the website such as worksheets which are very helpful. I started taking physics and I started out knowing nothing about it, but with the tutors help I am getting all As. Anyway for any one who is considering tutoring this one really works and it is definatly worth the money.

I signed up for tutoring in Chemistry in the morning of Thursday, the 11th of November after reading the 24x7 claim on their website and after being assured by the salesperson of the same. Immediately after the credit card transaction cleared, I got a notification that tutoring in Chemistry is only available from 4PM to 2AM. I still had the salesperson online when this happened, so I IMed him. He apologized for the inconvenience and bailed without even saying goodbye. After several calls and consorted effort, I got most of my money back, minus $2 which was nonrefundable for which there is no mention of on their website nor was mentioned by the salesperson. Overall, a very slimy experience. I have many dealings with Indians both in the U.S. and in India. I know them to be a hardworking and frugal people. But the people at TutorVista have added a new dimension to my experience, greedy, liars and untrustworthy.
