On 06/17/08, I ordered two sets of DVD’s from TVDVDWorld.tv. They were The Three Stooges Complete Television Series On DVD $68.99 and The Invaders Complete Television Series On DVD $43.99
Shipping: $23.99
Price: $136.97
I was sent a shipping confirmation on 06/23/08 with instructions to call or email 1-800-787-1219 or email us at
[email protected] in the event that there was a problem with the order. Neither the phone number or the email work. The phone number on the AT&T billing website associated with this charge is 866-646-0645. This number is also invalid. In early July, I had not received the DVD’s and since the numerous emails were bounced back as undeliverable and the phone numbers were invalid, I contacted AT&T and filed a dispute for the items.
On 07/12/08, I received the DVD’s via USPS. I signed for them. However, The Three Stooges was supposed to be 20 DVDs in 3 containers. I received 24 DVD’s in 4 containers. Two of the DVD’s were not Three Stooges but Fraggle Rock and Malcome in the Middle. 4 of the DVD’s do not play, 2 of the disks contained episodes that were on other disks, 4 disks have chapters/episodes that are listed but not contained on the disks.
The Invaders series was advertised to contain 43 episodes, custom artwork and an episode guide. The series had 20 individual episodes, no artwork or episode guide. Three of the disks contained the same episodes, one disk had a series called “the wife and kids”, another disk contained episodes of the series Emergency, another set of two disks contained the same episodes and one disk was dead, containing nothing.
I again attempted to call 800-787-1219 as it was the contact number in the shipment to my house but after a short message, I was disconnected.
09/03/08 1154 hrs Finally someone answered the phone and identified himself as “Luke” from DVD Express. He apologized profusely about not being available by phone or email and after much discussion, agreed that the products were defective and will be issuing a one time refund on my credit card for $112.98, the price of the dvd’s without shipping. Luke said that it was not necessary to return the defective dvd’s to them.
09/17/08 1320 hrs… There is now a $86.97 charge from 06/23/08 from this company. I talked to Greg from DVD and he told me that the credit of $112.98 was still being processed. I called AT&T at 1345 hrs and spoke to customer service representative Theresa who sent me to another Theresa in billing disputes. She told me that they had negotiated a charge back of $86.97 to satisfy the original charge of $136.97 and that as far as they were concerned, they were out of the picture and I had to deal with DVD World. I called them again at 1350 hrs and spoke to Jewel. I finally got her to understand that there needed to be a $62.98 refund made instead of the original $112.98 that Luke had promised on 09/03/08. She said that she would be sending it off to billing and that someone would be in contact with me over this.
No one has ever called me back, AT&T screwed me and chose to stand with the scammer who stole $87.97 from me and as of this date (10/29/08) there have been no additional credits to my AT&T account which I will be cancelling shortly. These dvd’s are not usable by myself and not what I ordered but I am unable to return them to the merchant since the merchant seems to be unavailable.
My advice is to use Paypal for ALL transactions over the internet with people that you've never done business with. When it comes to disputes, those people will stand with you, not like the jerks at AT&T/Citibank...
