Billing & Customer Service
Oncor Electric reads my meter for my TXU bill. They started me out on the wrong meter number on May 1, 2009 when I set up the service at my new apt. It is almost August, and the problem gets worse every day. Today I received 2 more "corrected" bills from TXU. One stated I owe them $147.00; the other stated I had a $42.00 credit. Both bills were dated 7/27/09, and NEITHER one had my correct meter number or meter reading indicated. The customer service people are absolutely worthless...I have received at least 30 eaqmils stating my dispute would be resolved in 1-2 business days. It has now been 33 dyas since I filed my dispute!
Avaoid this company at all costs...they have absolutely no idea how to fix even a simple clerical error!

TXU deliberatly cut off power in 105 degree weather without cause.
Unbelieveable. TXU Energy cut off our power in 105 degree weather for no reason. We had been traveling and we paid our bill 2 days past the billing due date. We have never been late. We paid long before any cut off date and only 2 days late of the due date on the bill. We called it into them. They took the payment removed the funds from our account then 3 days later cut off our power.
We called and ask them if they showed the payment. They said they did have the payment. We ask them why they did this. They told us we were being punished for paying late.
They refused to turn the power back on for 48 hours. We had to spend over 600 dollars for hotel room, boarding for our dog and had to throw out all items in the fridge and freezer. The temp in out house reached 96 degrees.
We are suing them under the DTPA rules and we are going to add a very large amount for the mental frustration.
This company SUCKS big time. They are what I consider low level terrorist and anyone that does any business with them is a fool. I refused to let them turn the power back on and went with Reliant Energy who was cheaper and better with customers.
DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH TXU THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!

Wrong Billing
I have lived in my house since 2005, when I pulled my credit report it showed that I owned that I owed TXU $839 - Upon my challenge they did not clear my account but instead changed to "Charged Off" this is hurting my credit score. I want TXU to clear my account or show me why it cannot be done.

incentives to not switch deceptive
June 2, 2009, I contacted TXU as I was preparing to switch to a provider with a lower rate of 10.5. At that time TX offered to lower my rate to 13.9 and waive the cancellation fee
provided I agreed to extend the length of my contract by two years. I agreed to those terms. They did not honor that agreement. They do NOT dispute the fact that
the spoke with me on June 2 and that the representative offered me those terms. Shelly, in the Corporate office of Priority Escalations(would not give me either a last name nor an extension)
stated that the representative was not authorized to offer me those terms. Shelly did locate the recording of the transaction. TXU is using VERY deceptive techniques to LURE their customers into NOT switching then NOT homoring the terms offered simply by stating that the representative was not authorized. In the meantime, I am forced to pay the higher rate for the previous month of June and until I am finally able to make the switch. I did switch today and filed a complaint with the PUC

Loss of service
My electrical power was lost on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at approx. 6 a.m. My power was not restored until Saturday, June 13, 2009 at approx. 6p.m. Before the power outage I had gone to the grocery store and purchased approx. $200.00 in frozen and refrigerated items. All of this food was ruined due to the power outage. Any consideration given for this lost during what is already a difficult economic time would be greatly appreciated. My account number is : 114-7692-88-1.
Blessings,

CUSTOMER SERVICE
On Thursday, May 07, we contacted TXU for an emergency disconnect, to replace a faulty main breaker. We did this, and around 6 p.m. the following day we called TXU back to have our meter reconnected. This was the first of a great number of conversations that we had with 'customer service', or as we would later find out, was a call center in EL SALVADOR, that had no contact information with anyone in Texas. We were told (LIED to) over and over, that we were on the technicians list, and would be tended to by the end of their shift. We were told that for days. We had food go bad in the fridge. We had to stay in a hotel. As of today (MAY 13), we have YET to have a technician come replace the meter and lock it. Matter of fact, the FIRST agent that took our reconnect call was a man named CEASAR, who assured us a priority reconnect before midnight. We would later find out that this was incorrect information. We sat in our car waiting on a technician untill 12:30 a.m. Friday, May 08. That is when we went to a hotel for what was left of the night. A subsequent call was placed and I asked for a complaint to be filed against this 'customer care' employee, and that's when we were informed of TXU embursing us for our troubles. We have yet to hear anymore about that either.
So, will you please define CUSTOMER CARE??? Please explain how the people that you hire to deal with the public are poorly trained foreigners with poor command of the English language!
It would have been nice for this to have been tended to in a timely, professional manner.
Perhaps we should consider outsourcing our hopes as well.
Good day.

billing
TXU has taken $285.00 out of my checking account that was not owed and when I call to check on the status of the investigation that was 2 months ago, all they do is repeat what has been noted to my account. This is theft and we as consumers are victims of theft! I have been a customer of TXU for 8 years and cannot believe this bad business. Since, I have no voice in the situation, protect yourself and DO NOT use TXU as your electricity provider.

Rate Plans/Cancelations fees
TXU signed me up for a rate plan that insured the lowest rate. Then I find out it was the one of the highest, but when I shopped around and switched was charged $200. TXU did not want to work this out with me and their customer service routed to Manila was terrible. STAY AWAY FROM ANY RATE PLANS WITH TXU. YOU CANNOT SHOP FOR THE BEST RATE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE CHARGED $200 IF YOU SWITCH!!!
