I went to Parsippany Automotive for oil change three weeks ago. The mechanic recommended me to repair rear brake. We made an appointment the day after for a detailed inspection and the price for the repair. After some inspection, the mechanic told me that it costs $875 to fix the front brake (not the rear brake any more). This was totally insane. So I left. What happened afterwards was that I got no brake at all on road on that day. I was at a loss and used the parking in the transmission to stop the car. I called AAA to tow my car to another auto shop for repair. The reason for no brake was that the line was broken. Other parts of the brake system were totally fine. The nightmare was not over. Just two days ago, I found that the transmission was bad. Note that my car is 2001 Honda accord under 50, 000 miles. The cost was $2400. I think that that is because I used the parking to stop the car when the brake did not work. Though not sure that everything after the insane price is because of the mechanic, I highly recommend not to go to his auto shop and not to give him a chance to touch your car.
