I highly do NOT recommend this school!
I attended UEI in 2009 and graduated in the dental assisting program in honors and great grades. I was one of those people who did not want to believe what other people had to say about this school (I wish I did). I thought I was different because I am a very driven person. After graduating in December 2009 about a couple of months later I haven't heard from UEI's Career Services and no call backs from about 20+ different dental offices I had applied to myself with no help what so ever from UEI. I was completely shocked to learn that the career services people from UEI got their "job leads" from craigslist and monster.com! I feel like I was manipulated to join this school by their administration because they know what we are getting ourselves into but its all about the money which is exactly what they are all about! I had written a letter to several people including UEI about my situation not only for my self but for the other people who attended with me as well who still do not have jobs in the dental field 2 years later. I had said in my letter all my frustrations with this school and how they do not do as they say, mostly promising to help you find a job, and that I wanted my loan and my certificates taken away. I had stated a lot of mishaps that happened while I was attending, i.e. books were 4 months into the program late, not properly taught on certain things but still passed the modules and more. About 2-3 months later I received a phone call from UEI compliance in regards to my letter. They said that they could only do so much for each student and there was nothing they could do! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I am paying $14, 000 to get this "career" that you had made such a big deal about when I was signing up! I hear more from my loan carrier then I ever did from UEI! About a month later I received another call from UEI saying how much they wanted to help me, there's no way I can get the loan taken off, there's no evidence to show your books were late blah blah blah. I was very polite on the phone (i am not a rude person) and I had said that why should I get help now when you should have done it in the first place but I accepted the help and she said that I should be getting a call from career services in the next couple of days. NOW, here's the part that gets me. That phone call was about 2+ months ago and I have not received one phone call (f.y.i. I still have the same phone number and address so there's no loss in communication). I have proven my point. I am paying a lot of money for this education and I work in retail to pay for this loan that I have nothing to show for. I am debating whether I should call UEI compliance again, or just getting a lawyer and seeing what I can do about this situation. This is not right! It is a scam! Those who are attending UEI I highly suggest to quit now! Those who have graduated with no job to show for I am truly sorry and i know how you feel. I am writing this to help people who are thinking about joining UEI (I hope this helps) and also if anyone has any advice on how I can better my situation with trying to get this loan taken away please email me at [email protected].

LACK OF INTEGRITY & LIES
My son attends this school in the Medical Assistance Program and I am appalled at the number of times his instructor has told him lies. It would seem that neither instructor has any integrity what so ever. First they are told they have no class then he is contacted and told he just needs to come in for a couple of hours. Once he gets there then he is told he has to stay and cannot leave. I realize students may say they are ill and don't go to class but my son puts forth every effort to go. So if he is sick and has his doctor tells him to get bedrest I believe that's what should happen. When he told his teacher what the doctor said he was told he needed to come in anyway. And since he is very young he dragged himself in only to exacerbate the problem. The instructor shows no real concern for the students. They make promises and never follow through with them. I so babdly want to call the school but he doesn't want me too. I just wish they would acquire some integrity from some where. They seem to know their job they just lack the ability to tell the truth. UEI is you care about your schools reputation please encourage your instructor to display some integrity and don't lie to their students. Is it your practice to hire these LIARS to work at your school and represent you school.

I belive they are liars. Here's the website to Consumer Affairs. I'm going to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Here's the website if you want to file as well: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/about.shtm

UEI
So I decided to attend UEI because my admissions counselor was so nice to me and I really felt that the rest of the employees would be the same. But of course I was wrong. I know that every school has policies and procedures but not everyones situation is the same. So i just assumed that someone in the school would understand my situation and that there procedures and ploicies could be bent a little for a single parent trying to get an education. All of my tuition would be paid off by a grant and the career center so I decided to apply for student loans to pay for my living expenses. I expressed this to every person that I spoke to before I signed the final papers to get into the school. But at my last visit with financial aid I was told that my student loans wouldnt be disburssed to me untill my tuition is at a zero balance. Meaning that because grants are released into two disbursments they would be using all of the student loan money to pay off my tuition before I could get anything to pay for my living expenses. In other words UEI cant wait to get there money from the grants they will take your student loans to get theres first even though they know your school tuition is completely taken care of, they cant wait to get there disbursment of grant theyll take your student loan money to paythemselves off first. I tried talking to the director to see if anyone could help me around this because I am a single parent of two. Of course there answer was no. So I guess now I will have to live in my car because UEI wont make an exception for me.

Worse School Ever
UEI does nothing but lie to there students. They promise you success in writing and verbally, but nothing is honored. I took the pharmacy technician course there in 2009 and graduated with high honors and still don't have a EI job. I took CPR training in june 2009 and still do not have my CPR card. Every time I ask about it my instructor tells me it should be here any day now. They weren't that relax about getting my tuition payment. Every single day they had no problem interrupting class to harass students about there tuition payments. Why has it been 8 months and I still do not have my CPR card. I am still waiting to be registered to take the PTCB exam that was included in my tuition. I filled out the application in October 2009, and still have not been registered dby the school. I went to check on the reason why, and Found that my application was sitting in the desk of one of the instructors for 4 months! Then they invited students who were not yet employed to come to a job fair that would have employers from all fields, but when we arrived there were no employers at all! They gave us some cookies and soda and asked us why we think we haven't got a job. Then they took down our phone numbers (like they don't have that info already) then told us, " Thank you for coming". They wasted my time and my gas. Career services does nothing to help students find jobs. I tried to utilize my counselor, and all I got was a list of outdated job leads that she had given to other students 3 months before. All their information was on the job leads including the dates she faxed their resumes months before. I found my own externship site because my coordinator said she did not have any sites. I am not the only one who feels this way. I have over 20 classmates that attended school with me as well as previous students who all share similar issues. I found out that this has been going on for years. If anyone is planning a lawsuit I would like to join in. Please don't be fooled. These are the type of services you receive when you attend UEI College. What a waste of time and money.
