Ref: UKSoccershop / $300 worth goods never delivered
Order 103233 / UKSoccershop person: Biju Peter
UKSOCCERSHOP (www.uksoccershop.com) – NEVER ORDER FROM THEM
Anyone who feels their consumer rights were violated by UKSoccershop please WRITE TO
[email protected] to make COLLECTIVE CLAIM in court (see below).
My story is short and straightforward. I made an order on www.uksoccershop.com for around 200£ (=$300) and never received it.
Well within the promised 14 days after making the order, I got an e-mail saying the order has been shipped. I wish it was! As time went and I still didnt receive anything, I wrote an inquiry e-mail to
[email protected]. A customer services person called Biju Peter suggested there had been a problem at the delivery phase, and that I should sort this out myself with Royal Mail whose services they claim they use for delivery [I live in the UK].
To make my doing his job harder, Biju ignored my questions about the Royal Mail tracking number of the package, date it was delivered to Royal Mail etc. Luckily, the guy at the RM sorting office happened to be kind enough to check all packages by the address. What he told me was that there was no package for delivery to my address ever since they claim they had shipped it!
Nothing left to do, I started writing series of emails to Biju asking to explain why they had not shipped my order to Royal Mail and where it might be. From the start, Biju refused to give me a phone number, but never managed to effectively communicate with me over the e-mail. In total, I have written 5 inquiring emails to them. All I got back were one sentence long standard replies saying they were working on my case. No details, no updates, no information. Needless to say, my last e-mail was never replied to.
On googling up “uksoccershop watchdog”, I have found at least 25 similar cases reported: goods paid for but never delivered. The cases have much in common. The customer is usually from overseas, and presumably does not have time to go to court. On complaining for the first time, the customer is advised that the delivery failed due to (i) Royal Mail on strike, (ii) Royal Mail surprisingly not on strike but losing the package anyways, (iii) Christmas time. Further complaints are ignored, and communication with the customer is minimised.
I am quite frustrated at the scale at which UKSoccershop rips off its customers, never to mention my personal financial and emotional damage by the company. I also think such vendors undermine trust in online shopping in general, and it is our duty to make them change for the better or get out of business.
This is why I am now issuing the proceedings against UKSoccershop in Wandsworth County Court (Small Claims Court).
Further, I think collective claim would make even more sense, taking into consideration the number of similar cases. Therefore I urge the ones who too have been ripped off by UKSoccershop to please contact me at
[email protected] with details of your experience.
Thanks !
Victoria.
