misleading information
I fell behind on my auto loan after being laid off. I contacted United Acceptance to try to work out something, they immedietly sugested i do a voluntary repossession. I refused the offer and told them i would be a month and a half late depending on when my paydays fell on my new job. I would get calls on my home, cell and at work almost daily. I was making my payment 0f 368 every month only i was 1 and a half months behind. well one month i fell behind the fourth week which would put me behind 2 months. On thursday at 1 pm i was called and i told United that i would make the payment Friday Morning via Westernunion. I thought everything was fine, 2 hrs later my truck was gone 3pm on thursday. I called the number i was just talking to them on and a recording came on saying i would have to call back during working hours. The next morning i had to make a payment for 1070.00 that covered the 2 months owed and the repo fee. The company would not help me out. I put my intire check into western union to make the payment . I called the company again and they said i had to wait 30 min for it to post, i called 3 times over the next hr, finally they said it posted, but the truck was already being processed for resale. I could not believe it. I told them if they sold the truck i would sue for misrepresentation and tricking me into making a payment. I meant it. Well, they relented and said the truck would be returned to Corpus. I arrived at the repo yard as my truck was brought back from being shipped to houston. This company can not be trusted. Granted i fell behind, but i did not hide, i called them to let them know my status, and i made payments, i have 8 payments left on a 10, 000.00 loan.
