Terrible everything
Hey I was a UA agent for about six months. Like almost everyone else on here I did have a bad experience. I sold numerous policies and thought the insurance was great, I even had my own policy. Little did I know that the policies were crap and when I was trained I was misguided on what the policies would cover and pay for. After quiting I started getting letters in the mail from Vector One saying that I had a $1500 balance, so I went to my branch office and talked to my old manager. He said it was nothing and not to worry about it, so I did just that.
Couple of months later I started getting calls from Wexford and James, a collection agency. She said that I owed that money back and she would be collecting from UA. She wanted $500 up front and the rest on a monthly basis. I was pissed because not only did I already pay taxes on the money but I was miss informed about how the whole advance system worked. When asking a couple more questions and telling her I wanted all documents stating that I owed this money she sent me a loan agreement that I apparently signed, unknowingly, when I was appointed.
The reason I say unknowingly, I had to sign all the documents on the computer using a mouse, to top it all off, I went through all of my records and didn't have copies. If I had any idea I would have ran right out. So now I am in a moral delema, do I pay back the money, or risk my credit which is really good. I don't know if the collectors can do that but they are saying they will. I am in collage and serving tables, not making tons of money. If anyone is in the same situation please get back to me, or if you have any info please don't hesitate.
