Unauthorized billing
I had gone to untied cash loans in May. As of today I'm still being charged a monthly fee. My loan should have been paid in full in August.

Fraudulent charges
This company is a HUGE ripoff artist. When I spoke to the customer service representative last week when I noticed additional fees taken from my bank account he stopped me in mid sentence.
The man was rude and treated me like I was stupid. It was my understanding that I would pay back $390.00 for a $300.00 loan. Well now the fees are up to $700.00.
Please someone put these people out of business.

Harassment
The company called regarding an outstanding debt in December 0f 2007. Prior to the calls from the company, a third-party collections company contacted me in July 2007 regarding the debt. I made arrangements with the third-party collections company and had a zero balance with them. Six months later, United Cash Loans began calling requesting payment for the same debt again. I requested two pieces of information from them, 1: a letter verifying the debt and 2: to contact me in writing only. After speaking to several representatives and supervisors, the calls stopped around April of 2008.
In November of 2008, I began to receive calls from the company again. However, this time, the customer service representatives call me between 7 and 8 am. I inform them each time that they are calling outside the regulated call hours, and they call me a liar and say that if I pay the debt, they will stop calling, and that my refusal to address the debt will result in additional calls.
It is now January 2009, I have spoken to multiple supervisors at the company, and today after frustration (as they called at 7:09 am) I decided to file a complaint with the FTC. I don't know if it will stop the calls, but I figured, I have given them ample opportunities to address both the debt that has already been collected as well as the calls at 7:00 am.
I see there are multiple complaints about this company, but I thought I should add this as well.

Fraud and scam
Of course Christmas resulted in a bit of financial hardship for me, I wanted a cash advance to get me through until next payday, I filled out an application online and before the approval I found all of the postings on this website and decided to cancel my loan.
I attempted to contact the company during their business hours but only received a recorded message telling me that their office was closed. I emailed twice asking them to cancel my loan request as it was still in the pending status. I emailed them the third time telling them to cancel my loan request and to cease and desist with putting funds or taking funds from my account as I have not received any funds as of yet.
I contacted my bank and will close my account and open a new one so that I will not receive any funds from this company and they will no longer have my account information. I do worry that they have my social security number. I hope that I have caught this soon enough!! If I don't receive the loan, then this should just fall to the wayside.
If anyone has any guidance for me to reassure me I am taking the right steps here, please please let me know.

scam- unfair
I took out a $300 loan to help pay for my son's birthday party in September of 2008. I agreed to he terms of the loan, being that there was a $90 fee. The catch to this place is in their agreement (the prit out; not on the website), you have to contact their customer service once they deposit the money, or every two weeks they will reissue the loan & only take the $90 fee. You also have to contact the customer service on a differt site than were you applied. The first payment date I did noit get an email, and on the Wednesday before they were due to take the payment out, I used the website to contact customer service & sent an email advising I wanted the entire payment taken out. I got an email back THursday advising it was too late for the transaction to go through that way & Friday only $90 was taken out. So the next payment as soon as I got the email I saved it in my adress book so they would stop going in my spam box, Litterally the next 3 payments they took I tried contacting customer service through th email & throught the websit & was given a website down message or some crap. Finally in December, they started taking out the $90 plus another $50 towards the loan. The next payment, when I had paid back the $300, the $90 & some I put a stop payment through my account, which worked, but two weeks later (dec 31st- a wednesday) they issued a paper check for $382. I wish I had researched this further before taking the loan out- I just wanted to give my son a nice birthday party & ended up starting out 2009 with a negitive balance & not being able to pay my rent that Friday. I am so upset & still looking into what I can do to get my money back. I don't want the $390 I borrowered, I just want back the $400 they took from me, my 16 month old son & my unborn child.

Rip off
A family member took out a $250 loan because this person has a limited income and needed help one month. They have paid back over $350 this month alone and can do nothing to keep United's hands out of their account. They have another similar loan out with another company, doubling the amount of money being taken.
Again, I need to stress that over the past 4 months, more than double the amount of the original loans has been seized. This morning, they took over $600 from their account and my family member now cannot make her rent, let alone any living expenses they may have over the next month.
This person is disabled and on disability, so even if they wanted to make some money on the side somehow, even if it was physically possible, her only stream of income would be cut off by the government and they would be charged with fraud.
So the options now are these: keep taking it and live on the street; fraud the government and risk the little health they have left working at some low level job that likely wouldn't pay even the pittance the government gives them; or...?
This has been a really bad situation that is literally causing a good person to be completely lost. It is a terrible way to do business and I hope anyone who even thinks about borrowing money from the internet and specifically United Cash Loans, even if it seems like desperate times, thinks about how bad things will be in 3 months when you're in the same situation and now, you have a company reaching into your bank account any time you deposit money.

Scam billing
I took a loan out in May 2008 for 200.00. I agreed to the payments and followed through with them as scheduled. In August 2008 I was informed they were illegal lenders in Maine an had a cease and desist order in effect from 2007.
I contacted the state and they told me I legally only had to repay the 200.00 I borrowed. When I went through mystatments I saw I had repaid and then some. The online contract was void because Maine law has presidense over contracts signed by Maine consumers who actually live in Maine.
I sent a cease and desist order and revoked my ACH approval, and placed an ACH block on my account and the next week they took out a paper check for 320.00, the amount they claimed I owed still.
I reported them again to the state and they told me to ignore them. The loan is illegal in Maine and even if they tried to sue, it would be thrown out since in Maine they have to be a licensed lender and they are not. The state has sent them several letters on my behalf with the law and telling to pay me back what they owe but the letters are refused by the company and returned.
This company is not licensed to lend in most states.
