Unprofessional, Scam
I signed up for Vector Security Service and Mr Sonny (President of United Home Security) installed one window alarm (I already had Vector set up throughout the house from the prior owners). Mr Weems seemed very nice at first. However, upon further research, I saw I was being overcharged for a simple service as I didnt have anything spectacular. I asked sonny about it and he immediately got very defensive. I requested if he could lower my monthly payment from $47 to something much lower since it was high and getting difficult for me to pay (due to the recession and bills piling up). He told me he could easily take off the $10 monthly maintenance charge because i didnt need it but anything more would have to come from Vector Corporate. He told me he would contact them for me and get back to me. I called Corporate myself and they told me that was not true. The representative informed me that Sonny, being the "dealer", would have to do that for me and let them know. Well every time I contact Sonny i get the run around from him, something he ssid Corporate office would do to me. I called him about 1 month after I spoke with him originally because I was stilled being charged $47, so no $10 discount had been applied yet. He then decided to change his story and say he could not do it, Corporate would have to. when I told him I contacted Corporate and they told me that was not true, he got defensive and asked me why I contacted Corporate when he told me he would. I told him because he keeps giving me the run around. He said he would call me back and of course it has been almost 3 weeks now and no call back. I am currently reporting him to the BBB. He is a member of the BBB with an A rating which I find surprising due to his unprofessional interaction with me. I see many complaints against Vector Security but I think people need to report the person who set your system up as they are the ones that can lower your payments for you because they do the contracts for you. He is overcharging me and taking advantage of his customers. Vector Security is getting all the bad complaints when it should be for the people that set the systems up and do the contracts as well. I am currently seeking legal advice as to how to handle this but if I were you DO NOT get into a contract with either United Home or Vector Security because no one can get out of it, even military. They are nice until they get you to sign the contract then you are given the run around from there and no one helps you because you are in a 3 year contract with them. This is not how you do business and trust me you will regret it and this is a very expensive regret. $47 per month adds up especially for something like this. It's like throwing $47 per month away everyday. Please be careful with this company. I'm stuck dealing with this but you dont have to be.
