Fraud
I too have become a victim of fraud/identity theft. The first call I received stated I owe a loan to a company I never heard of. I asked for information to back up their claim and the person became sarcastic. The person that called me has a very heavy foreign accent. I was threatened with court, and lawyers. They followed with the statment that "this can be resolved right now if I send them some money". I told them I would not pay one cent to a company I DO NOT OWE!. These people had my personal informaiton. They used a lawyer's name/business who does not practice the level of law they threatended me with. My reply was I would see them in court. The following month some one else called from United Investigations threatening my Social Security. I reported him to the Social Security Department. He represented himself as a law enforcement officer and again a very strong accent. I asked a professional person who tracks fraud cases to listen to the voice mail that was left on my phone. He stated the dialect sounded very close to Nigerian. MY ADVICE IS: GUARD YOUR INFORMATION. I don't know how these people are getting personal informaiton but there has to be some way to STOP THEM!!. With outsourcing, companies selling personal information, and other ways to make a buck, who knows. These crooks mostly likely are not in the United States, they are calling from overseas.
I despise a THIEF!!
This thief has to be interferring with the legitimate business named "United Investigations" reputation!

threating phone call at work
I received a phone call at my work phone number from a very rude man with a deep accent telling me my SSN was being investigated. I kept asking what company he was calling for and he got very upset and said if I did not want to listen to what he said, he was going to send the police to my work (he had the address) and have me arrested. Then he hung up the phone, but continued to keep calling. I did not answer the phone. I got very scared but don't have any reason to be arrested. Just the fact that he called my work.
