Awful and rude
Please Beware of this company and Michelle. They broke contracts, took money and left. They closed all their Illinois locations and will not refund or offer options that equal the agreement made when I purchased the laser hair removal packages from them. I can't get ahold of anyone and Michelle will not respond to callers. I lost a lot of money and didn't get what I was promised. I also didn't get the results they promised me for laser hair removal. They'll tell you anything just to get the sale but they are awful and so rude.

Company cloes, treatment unfinishes
I was, too, at United Laser Clinics. My treatment is unfinished, and I have more hair than when I started the treatment (due to the shaving of the area treated, face in my case). I am filing complaint with Attorney General. Is there anything else I can do?

Clinics closed/No notification/No Contacting Info
I bought a package deal with them in Indiana in 10/07 and have had their treatments every 4-6wks until Jan 2009 when I arrived at the Chicago (Lincoln Park) office for my scheduled appointment and the office had closed. I called the 800# and went to the Algonquin office for 2 months (during which they did not have the "right equipment" for light-colored hair treatment), then that clinic closed and I haven't been able to reach them since. I paid for my package up front, so I doubt I can even get any money back, but this situation really sucks. They at least should have called to cancel appointments and perhaps transfer us to other companies for the remainder of our treatments. I was told it would take up to 12 treatments, in January I was on #16 and I still have plenty of hair growing back.

Breach of Contract
I wish I had read all of the complaints before I signed a contract with this company. I signed a contract about two months ago. They were very pushy but I knew I wanted to have laser hair removal done so I signed and paid in full. I too was contacting Michelle. When I was attempting to schedule an appointment the phone number was disconnected and the website gone. I was very angry so I too called my credit card company. They have credited some of my money however I purchased the product based upon the 3 year guarantee. I would have never paid a dime without it so I should receive a full refund. Anyway after some research I found that the clinics closed but there was a new clinic there- Renew Cosmetic Spa of Carmel with a new number 18885273714. So I called the number and the receptionist told me that Renew Spa would honor the contract but I had already filed my claim with my card company. I asked how would clients know of this contract change and she stated that they sent all information out to effected clients. I didn't receive any thing either but she said they would still honor my contract.

I was suspicious that United laser clinics simply changed their name to renew spa but when I looked up the numbers using the better business bureau. I found that United laser clinic is owned by David Hood and Michelle Droulos. They have an F rating from the BBB.

I could not find any information on Renew Cosmestic Spa so I used the number 18885273714 to find information. I did find that this company started in Springfield Missouri owned by Melissa Gilmertin and actually has an A rating by the BBB. There membership expired 5/14/2009.

I don't believe they are the same company but I have to say that I don't trust anyone in this business right now. But it is true that they (Renew Cosmetic Spa of Carmel) stated that they are honoring the contracts of United laser clinics. I just wish I had found out another way.

Fraudulent company
I had paid $1325 for Laser hair removal by this company at 3520 Seven Bridges Dr. Suite 220 Woodridge, Il. 60517 and was told it would take 6-8 treatments to get full results, and the contract states that any hair regrowth on treated areas after the original treatments, would be treated for up to 3 years. When I went in on my first visit, I asked what would happen if I do not react correctly to the treatments, and was told I would get a FULL refund. I went in for 8-9 treatments and STILL have not achieved even HALF the results promised. WELL, I had an appointment for January 2 or 3, and tried to call to change it, and kept getting a 'The number you dialed is not a working number'. I went online to find a new number, and LO AND BEHOLD on the website, this office along with all Illinois offices were not on the list anymore. And I kept searching online hoping this was a mistake, and thats were I found other complaints of the office disappearing with NO notice. I emailed the company and they said they would let me know when they reopened an Illinois office. I requested my money back due to lack of results, AND the fact that they closed in this manner, there is no way that they can honor the contract. I received a response back saying they would not know pretty much if I would get it back or when. I will not wait until they decide to open a new location, which could take over the 3 years of the contract.

RIPOFF $$$ x 1000'S
I want Michelle in jail. She lied about the doctor next door taking up her obligations. The "doctor next door" has been asking repeatedly, for parts taken from "THEIR" laser by ULC, making the unit useless. ULC also allegedly owes THEM money too! I'm interested in starting a class action suit if there isn't one. Contact me at [email protected].

I have talked to Doctor Thors' office twice in the past couple weeks, and have the number, but trust me, you'll just be wasting your time and theirs. They claim to just be MORE victims too. I volunteered to help them in court if they need, and will gladly add your names to the list.

And yes, they kept trying to sell me new packages right up to the end.
