I am a victim of identity theft. How can I get debt collectors to stop calling?
Send the debt collector evidence that you are a victim of identity theft. Examples are:
* police report
* fraud affidavit
* letters form companiew acknowledging the debt is not yours
Once you provide information that you are an identity theft victim, the collector must:
* stop collecting on the debt and investigate
* notify the original creditor about the fraud or identity theft
* give you information about the debt, such as account applications and statements
On May 26, 09 around 1:00pm, When Customer tried to call direct number (800) 304-3107 a representative asked for customers name and SSN number then immediately hungup three times on him after repeated calls to your agency. The customer could not get his account information which is a FDCPA rights Violation for reporting false information on a consumer's credit report or threatening to do so in the process of collection of a innocent consumer.
Please assign a investigator for an audit as this Violation of rights has made the IRS make false individual tax return withholding's.
if you have further questions email me at: [email protected] or call me and quit avoiding service, and quite giving me bad customer service. It is the practice of FMS to give bad service on first callers apparently.
Thank you.
Respectfully yours,
