After ordering my building I needed to delay delivery of it due to permit issues with the county. When the permit issues were completed we gave the green light for United Steel Buildings to build and ship the building. They claimed it would take 6 weeks to process and then ship. This was in early June of 2009. I did not receive the building until October 18th. Hmm let me do the math... 6 weeks... four months... to them it was close enough... unbelievable.

Part of the framework was made wrong and after asking United Steel for help they said they would get back to me. I had to pay a local iron worker to weld some clips in place which cost $300. When I asked for reimbursement they said they decided to mail the clips they forgot via snail mail, it took 10 days to arrive. What should I do the rented equipment I have on site and the work crew? Pay them hundreds of dollars while I wait for United Steel Building to save $20 on overnight mail? They do not care about their customers... at least this one at all and by the sounds of it on the internet other customers as well.

They told me the building would come on 2 deliveries but they were adamant about me having the full payment for them available for the driver when the first delivery came in. I was told several times the second half (the insulation and the roll up door) would arrive usually within one week of the building delivery. It is now December 9th and the insulation and roll up door have not arrived. Because of their delays I am now dealing with snow coming down. They have stopped answering the phone and do not replay to e-mails any longer. The lady I have dealt with is Sue (now I understand why they do not use last names) and she is less than pleasant to deal with.

IF YOU HAVE TO DEAL WIHT THIS COMPANY PAY ONLY WITH A CREDIT CARD, THAT WAY WHEN A DISPUTE ARISES YOU CAN HAVE THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY TAKE YOUR MONEY BACK. I do not recommend their services.

I now have to find another company to provide the missing parts because NO ONE at United Steel Building will call me back.
