unauthorized charges
Well, I thought I had put unitedtel.com behind me. After I spoke with them last month and ask them to take off the 2 months unauthorized charges I thought I wouldn't have to think about them again. I opened the verizon bill this month to find that they only credited me for one month (amerivoice credited me for 3 months I was entitled to). So once again, I call them and they did confirm that my account was closed and didn't know why I wasn't credited for both months. I went on to tell them that there was now an additional month on my bill that I would also need credited for. The very nice rep told me the previous rep should have mentioned that May's billing had already been sent out before I cancelled. A reputable company would have mentioned that fact and credited me for all three months right then and there. I'm very upset with Verizon, a company I thought I could trust, for allowing this third party billing. When I spoke to them they said for about 8 dollars I could have a third party block put on by account. I'm guessing they meant 8 dollars a month. That's rediculous. Can you imagin the people who do not check their bill for these charges. I almost forgot to mention that the rep asked for my permission to track down the ip address where this service was requested, so they could find the person responsible for the charges. I should have told them to contact me with the person's name, too. Do you really think such a person exists? I'm not sure.
