A Unitrin policyholder hit our parked truck which pushed our vehicle 30 feet into a curb. Needless to say, the damage was extensive and it needed about two months in the body shop. State Farm took care of our loss and paid the body shop directly and paid the policy limits for our rental costs. When our vehicle was returned, 51 days later, we returned the rental and paid our $1100 portion. We expected to get our $1100 in out-of-pocket rental costs reimbursed by Unitrin but they are giving us $220 and stating that it shouldn't have taken that long in the body shop. They are refusing to pay us back for something we HAD NO CONTROL OVER. Not only are they not paying us the full $1100, they are also undercutting what is paid to State Farm because they say that State Farm should have used less expensive parts. Even though State Farm will not get fully reimbursed, they are reimbursing us for our deductible. NEVER again will I say ANYTHING positive about Unitrin claim handling.
