I sent email to Florida Tech Online asking for information last spring saying I was interested in enrolling for fall. I received a call from University Alliance Admissions Advisor, told they handle teh admissions for FT, and then was pushed and prodded to enroll right away. I agreed to enroll and take one (1) class and the other (she said was an intial course requirement) I would test out of.
I was told most of my 86 credits from ECU would transfer "no problem" - to go ahead and get started with the required courses and then all that business would be worked out. NONE of my credits transferred - NOT ONE of my 86 credits transferred.
Then I was told if I wanted to appeal that I would have to write the school on each course taken and provide a comparison from the course catalog of both schools myself. I thought that was what the transfer review office was suppose to do. That's what I was told in the beginning.
THEN - one of the two courses I was enrolled in had NO INSTRUCTOR for the first week. I and the other students were all freaking out not know what we were suppose to be doing and not having any idea that the instructor had quit.
AND the other course that I requested to test out of Iwas then refused that option. I think that was totally money driven. And then (after being enrolled in it) I was told to take that course I needed software I didn't have and found it would cost me over $200.
The "Advisor" I was assigned changed 5 times over 2 months. Anytime I called I had to explain my history from the beginning with every new advisor.
THEN when my computer crashed I called but I couldn't get them to let me drop the courses via phone. I live way out in the country so I called and spoke with several people to try to facilitate dropping via phone the courses to no avail. I finally drove into town and used a friend's computer to drop the courses.
Now they are trying to get money out of me that I refuse to pay. I learned nothing other than Florida Tech Online and University Alliance is a BIG SCAM. Beware.
