SCAM!!!! Waste of Money...Worst COMPANY EVER!!!
Wow...I don't even know where to start! EVERY ASPECT OF THIS COMPANY "SCHOOL" SUCKS!!! This company...oops "school" is the most pathetic school ever! The ethic level from the employees: (staff, teachers) is horrid! To start with the enrollment counselor gave me misleading and fraudulent information regarding my classes at time of enrollment. Half of the class I have taken are not recognized by any other school which means I spent money to take classes which made a large profit for company. I have several "teachers" provide templates for class work and then I get credit taken off because I did not use the correct template...come on now I did not make up my own template...you gave it to me. Now that I am close to "graduating" I am missing or lacking credits now even though I have taken all of the classes needed.

Fraud and Misleaing Information
I am writing in regards to filling a complaint against University of Phoenix, In Summer of 2008 I enrolled in University of Phoenix degree in accounting The enrollment counselor gives me misleading and fraudulent information regarding my classes at time of enrollment. I was given schedules of classes for my degree. After take 4 courses at University of Phoenix I was informed by my counselor that University of Change my degree plan. My degree was change form Bachelors in Accounting to Bachelors in Business concentration in accounting all most of my accounting courses was eliminated. I have already filed my grievance with Office of Dispute Management but they have denied my request already stating that I have agreed in enrollment contract that the University has right to change my class courses any time. But I never sign a contract the enrollment contract I have request a sign copy with am I still waiting for it. Enrollment counselor gave me false and misleading information. I was enrolled as an on ground student and I sign up for ground classes only in La Mirada California Campus.

At time of enrollment my enrollment counselor instead that all of my classes on my schedule will on campus in La Mirada Campus. Since I was given misleading and incomplete information at time of enrollment and University of Phoenix change my degree program eliminating my accounting courses since I need these courses to sit in for my CPA exam. I have to go to a different school to finish my degree. Office of Dispute Management has already decline my request for a full refund.

Scam School
I have been attending UoP for over a year now, I was doing great in the beginning straight A's 3.0 GPA. I WAS nearly finished with school when they put me in back to back math classes and the second math class I failed. The stopped disbursment of my student funding and I had to pay over 1, 000$ to retake this math class or I could not further my education. I passed the retake math class after struggling through it. The teachers don't help you and I was told to seek out a tutor to help me. Then i do seek help and I get accused of plagirism. PLAGIRISM how does someone plagerize math? Ever since these fowl ups with math they have been contiunously with holding my student loans. My finacial advisor would not give me any information so I called the finacail aid disbersment department directly and found out my funds were sitting in limbo and no one was doing anything about it. They are allowed 18 days to sit in limbo but no one cared and let mine sit for over 3 weeks extra. This school is a joke, teachers are a joke. I'm about ready to just drop out and continue my education elsewhere.

Misleading students when enrolling and financial aid disbursements
I began actual classes in April and was originally told that I would have my excess funds disbursed to me by the 2nd week of classes. I am now 6 weeks in and no money. I called and spoke to my financial advisor last week and was told that they received (and applied) my PELL on the 9th (of May) and had received my student loans on the 18th and that I would have the money between the 25th and 27th (of May). On May 26th (yesterday) I noticed that only the PELL had been applied to my account, so I called once again just to make sure my money was on the way, and much to my surprise, it still hadn't been applied to my account. They'd had 4700.00 of my student loans for 9 days and still had not applied them to my account. I then asked my financial advisor if I could change the disbursement methond to Direct Deposit and if it would be quicker than waiting on a paper check, to which he replied " If you do DD, once the money has been applied to your account, it will be sent IMMEDIATELY through to the bank, but I will call you back this evening and let you know when to expect it." Needless to say, he didn't call back. I logged into my checking account this morning and, of course, still no money, so I call him back. This time (less than 24 hours after I had spoken to him) he told me that by doing DD, it still wouldn't be immediate, and would take 3-5 more days, but still couldn't tell me why my money had sat there for 9 days without being applied. When I spoke with him last week I told him that I needed to know an aprox. date because I had an electric bill that was past due ( I have a 5 year old and a 4 year old, and no income) and was going to call my electric company and have it put off so that I could make sure I had the money. Yesterday, when I called him I told him that my cutoff was the next day, and he assured me that I would get the excess funds as soon as the loans were applied to my account. Now, I'm facing a cutoff today and still no money until, according to him, Thursday of NEXT week. Also when I first registered for classes I was told that it would take 1 year and 9 months to complete my Associates in Health Care Admin, and that I'd need to take a loan out for 9, 400 to cover what my PELL wouldn't. At NO point was I told that the 9, 400 loan ONLY covered the first 8 classes, and that to complete my degree I would need to take out MORE loans that I will not be able to repay. I think that it is very wrong that employees (enrollment and academic advisors) are lying to students, not being up-front about costs, tuition, and the amount of loans needed to finish your degree, they never return calls or emails, and only giving out the information that they deem important and are even lying (instead of telling the whole truth) to the students that they enroll. I am very upset and would like to know what, if anything, I can do about being jerked around and lied to from day 1 and who I can call to get this taken care of. If I'm not mistaken, weren't there already lawsuits involving UoP and pretty much the same issues that I'm having?

Tuition, Class Structure
Where do I start, been attending since 2008 was told by the Enrollment Advsior that my courses would only take a year to complete. 1st time in grad school, so I was not aware of the 3.0 GPA that must be maintained and needed to graduate, still have not found that documentation in the handbook. Tuition has increased THREE times without any acknowledgement being sent. They allow the professors to harrass their students, they do not inform of appeal options when they are needed most...instead they let you accept what you have got and "force" you to repay to take the course. I had one course that was four points shy of what I needed to graduate, instead of them telling me I could challenge the grades, they rather allow me to pay another $3, 000 to retake the course. A rip off, very unprofessional...I DO NOT recommend this school. If so really look into everything and ask as many questions.

Grant disburstment issues
Started this college on Jan 24 2o11 with the hopes and expectations i was doing something positive for myself in going back to school and re educate myself in another profession and career and the degree that was for my own achievement and satisfaction. After many years of starts and stops and promises i made the choice and went with phoenix college and the nightmare i encountered has got me in a mess i never thought i would ever be in. Story starts like this, started school in Jan it took the school over 90 days in process to send my grant disbursement but the grant check never touch my mail box, as time goes on i find out my check was sent to some unknown address and was cashed a classic case of mail fraud and identity fraud and check forgery, now as the college tracks down the check that was forged i had to prove i wasn't involved with there process, police report notifying the postal inspector you name it, now as this goes on for more protection for my self and identity i contact outer agencies like the national check fraud center and others as this goes on for further investigation, now i am going to school on zero income and phoenix polices are a complete mess, its bad enough to be in this mess but the colleges position of what there telling me is they have 120 days which puts my time frame almost a whole semester through school specially after they got there money first and from the lender that puts my credibility on the spot. Being in good faith and respect for education i pass off the leave of absence and continue school yet trying to not think about it yet each week goes by like, hey we got your money you wait when we feel like paying you ! the counselors, financial aid and the whole process is telling me what i don't want to hear until i say lawsuit or IL be seeing you in person, so as my tolerance and patients wear thin i am coming up to my second disbursement and half way through the semester. I feel like i was used even when it wasnt there fault with processing my funds for school and the process got from the college just shows there stance on my worth as a student with processing a turn around check as another disbursements comes again in other words they owe me big time. So i wait a few more weeks with academic affairs compliant and the inspector general of education filing and the state board of Arizona of education board compliant process and all they have to do is send me another check. What a mess, but as i research in depth about this college which has several lawsuits and a class action against them i am starting to wonder how can these college mills stay open!

WORST SCHOOL EVER- YOU WILL NEVER GRADUATE- Check FAFSA'S Report
I'll make my statement very simple. It's a nightmare to get registered with the University of Phoenix online and while you're in it, their requirements are endless. This is a serious means to pay their salaries while you build a ton of loan on your record. I made the biggest mistake coming to this school and I've invested way too much to be able to leave now. Listen if you care about your time.

Financial Aid
I believe the University of Phoenix takes their financial aid and then turns around and purposely drops and fails students to turn around and recharge them for the classes they have already taken. If anyone wants to make a formal complaint about University of Phoenix contact The Higher Commission Board at [email protected]. Write them a detailed letter and attach any proof you have about your complaints. Make sure it is in cover letter form. Then contact the Arizona Attorney General and fill out a complaint form. Once again make sure to be very thorough. Then last but not least contact the BBB for Arizona. If enough people stand up and complain about this school then maybe someone will do something about it. If anyone needs any help please contact me at [email protected]

Financial Advisement
I completed the requirements of the MBA program at the University of Phoenix while under the impression that my credits would be fully transferable to any "Regionally accredited" college. After completing the MBA program, I enrolled at my local community college for some technical courses regarding web development and sustainability. I discovered that I could not only use any of my courses as transfer credits, but that I also have an outstanding balance of well over $3000 that the University of Phoenix claims I owe for courses that I have completed.

While working as a part-time delivery driver last year, I was the victim of an attempted armed robbery and a brutal assault. I was just beginning a course that I had to withdraw from due to injuries to my skull, neck, back, and face. After speaking with five different people who represent the University of Phoenix, I am being told that I was charged for this course by two of them, and not charged for it by the other three.

Since I cannot satisfy this debt with a settlement through the collection agency the University of Phoenix has not authorized to take any less than full payment, I cannot receive my official transcripts for financial aid to continue my education.

So in summary, I am being told that I owe over $3000 despite the fact that I was using federal student loans to pay for the majority of my Masters Degree. I am being told two different stories about whether or not I was charged twice for the course which I had withdrawn from due to unforeseeable circumstances that I later completed. I am being talked down to by the financial advisors that I've spoke with thus far because of the debt they have convoluted. I cannot receive financial aid until I pay the balance in full in order to receive my transcripts.

I may, in fact, owe this debt in full, however, I cannot get a straight answer as to why I owe this money given the fact that I was using financial aid. The financial advisors, and the University of Phoenix dispute department have done a sub-par job at clarifying how and why I am being charged with this debt.

All in all, I am very disappointed with the administration of University of Phoenix and its policies, and a lack of respect to the students time, money, credit, and energy. Until I receive a clarification as to where, why, and how the debt was incurred, I refuse to pay.
