Please review the email thread below. US Airways and Barclays Matercard seem to have a problem honring their commitments...
Hello
The whole point of my complaint is that I have not received the benefits that were promised, specifically, that once the annual membership fee was paid and that an initial purchased completed I would receive 25000 miles credited to my Dividend miles account. You have not honored this commitment. Please review the thread below.
This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received in over 20 years of international travel with many airlines and associated credit cards and will be escalating the issue and taking advice as to whether it is in fact fraudulent. You have charged the fees and I not received the benefits.

Dear John Paul,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your US Airways MasterCard account. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause; however, we can certainly address your concern.
As we have reviewed, unfortunately, your account is not eligible for an annual fee adjustment at this time because it is receiving benefits. Please keep in mind, the annual fee keeps and maintains the account rewards program and its benefits. And it is posted every anniversary date to your account. Information about this fee was presented in the original offer you received, and is also included in your Terms and Conditions.
Please note that if you would like to have the options to choose of which credit card accounts with no annual fee, you may complete a new application, this can be process by calling directly at 1-800-308-6008 or by going to our web site www.aboutbarclaycardus.com. Hours of operation is from 7:00 am to 12:00 am ET, 7 days a week.
Should you have additional questions or concerns regarding your account, please reply to this message.
Sincerely,

Hello
It's been some time now since I received any communication on this. Would it be simpler if I just cancel the card in exchange for the membership refund ? It really does reflect quite poorly on both US Airways and Barclays bank.
Regards
John Paul

Dear Karrie
Thank you for your response on 9 December. It is now 25 January 2010 and I have still not received my miles, and I did not receive a January statement either, even though I paid my $79 membership fee last month. Please investigate. Thank you
John Paul

Thank you Karrie. My November statement included a $79 membership fee, and I paid the balance due in November. I have now received my December statement and there have been zero miles credited to my US Airways account, not 25, 000 as confirmed in your email dated 11 November 2009. Please investigate.
Thank you,
John Paul

Dear John Paul,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your US Airways Mastercard account.
We can certainly understand your concern regarding your bonus miles and would be happy to assist you.
Our records indicate once the first purchase has been made and your annual fee has been paid you will receive 25, 000 bonus miles. You will see this on your December statement. Please be advised if you do a balance transfer this must be done within the first 30 days of your account being opened in order to qualify for the 10, 000 miles.
We apologize for the confusion, the letter you have received was a result of your original rewards program. We show your current rewards program was applied to the account after October 18, 2009 and you should be receiving a new letter and an additional companion ticket shortly.
You are currently a Platinum card holder which gives all the same miles and certificates as the World card.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you.
If you have any other questions or concerns you may reply to this email.
Sincerely,
Karrie Hiltz

Thank you for your email, which confirmed my understanding of the rewards I would receive upon opening this account. However, I have today received a Welcome letter with certificates attached and in the text it mentions I will receive "10, 000 bonus miles after first purchase". Please could you confirm that I will receive 25, 000 bonus miles and NOT 10, 000 as stated in the recent letter received by mail. Thanks,
John Paul

Dear John Paul,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your US Airways MasterCard account.
We understand your concern and we can certainly assist you. Our records indicate that your account has a $79 annual fee which keeps and maintains the account rewards program and its benefits. Information about this fee was presented in the original offer you received, and is also included in your Terms and Conditions.
Please keep in mind that with the US Airways MasterCard, you will earn 1 mile for every $1 spent on US Airways and 1 mile for every $1 spent on all other purchases. You will also earn 25, 000 bonus miles for first use and when the annual fee is paid plus 1 mile for every $1 on balance transfer which is up to a maximum of 10, 000 miles within the first 30 days. There is no annual mileage cap. Miles are not earned on cash advances, finance charges, non-qualifying balance transfers, and other fees.
Your monthly billing statement will provide you with a summary of miles earned during that period. After your statement date, the miles will be transferred to your Dividend Miles account. Miles will normally appear on your Dividend Miles account within 7 business days of the statement date up to a maximum of 30 days.To redeem your miles or confirm your mileage total, please visit the US Airways web site at www.usairways.com, or contact a US Airways representative by phone at 1-800-428-4322.
If you have further inquiries, please reply to this e-mail.
Sincerely,
