OD Fees
I have had an account with US Bank for 18 months,

I made a deposit by ATM on Friday in the amount of 1, 100. The weekend came and went and I made my daily purchases at the local gas station. Well, Tuesday night I get home from school and check my account. SIX ODs on the account, $210 in total. Whoa I said. I called the 1-800 # and talked to a very nice female named Kristy. Kristy stated that I have never went neg, nor had any problems with my account. She stated that she saw no reason why I could not get these charges refunded. Kristy was not able to do this for me at the time since it was almost midnight. She stated that she would note the account and I could call the branch the next morning and get it taken care of.

HAHA, the next day I do just that. Well, Amiee, the horrible branch manager is in a meeting and must call me back.
Finally, Amiee calls, she states that it is MY FAULT that the account has the fees and I can only get a refund of $8.00 YES, EIGHT DOLLARS. I asked her about the notes on the account from the conversation the night before. "The notes did not say you could get a refund, and anyway we decide who gets refunds, not the customer service number!"

Now at this point I'm pissed! Amiee goes on the say, "you want me to refund $210 so you can what, go spend more money at Rally's?"

I made the deposit Friday at the ATM, never did my balance go neg. She stated that the deposit was NOT cleared until Tuesday, even though, last time I checked, banks operate on Saturday, and Monday. They could clearly see that 1, 100 was in the account and they still charged me this.

I then asked Amiee who I could talk to so I could complain about her. She stated that I could talk to her boss and that she would call me back when she was done...

US Bank is a joke, they will empty your pockets, taking everything you have for bogus fees.

5 Star Customer Service guaranteed.. HAHA this company should be ashamed of itself!!!

Mistake
I purchased a vehicle in 4/06 and obtained a lease from US Bank. I decided in 3/08 to purchase the vehicle. My bank secured a loan with me and called US Bank for a payoff. Someone at US Bank sent a faxed quote to my bank, my bank sent a check to purchase the vehicle. Now US Bank says they made a mistake and sent the wrong quote. They want more money. My bank tried to talk with US Bank but they don't want to discuss this with them. They have now put this to collections, even though I am making my payments on time to my bank, I am receiving numerous calls from a collection agency who tells me they are repossessing the vehicle this week. US Bank will not take responsibility for their own mistake they are punishing me for their error. I have excellent credit and they are ruining it for me. My suggestion: Tell everyone you know not to deal with this bank and if you do deal with this bank, take your money elsewhere. This corporation doesn't know what "customer service" is all about, I am proof of that.

Can't even qualify for overdraft protection
I have had a checking account with US Banks for over nine years and had never over drawn my account. As a matter of fact, I rarely went below $500 average daily balance.

Recently I forgot to make a deposit that I thought I had made and experienced a number of overdraft charges. The bank suggested that I apply for a line of credit to act as an overdraft protection, or apply strictly for the overdraft protection. I decided to do this even though I had assured myself I would not make this mistake again. They proceeded to tell me that I could not qualify for overdraft protection due to some derogatory items on my credit report.

I just qualified and purchased a $200, 000 home with that "derogatory" information and my loan is a traditional, fixed rate loan of 5.875%! How could I purchase a home and not be able to get overdraft protection from my bank of 9 years! Needless to say, I am closing this account as soon as I can get my direct deposit payroll and automatic withdrawals for bills transferred to my new bank - Nevada Federal Credit Union.

Four overdraft charges and I was never overdrawn
I check my account everyday and one evening I noticed I had an overdraft in pending (not yet applied to your account) so the next morning I went to the bank and deposited in $200 cash into the ATM. I checked that evening I had four overdraft charges applied to my account, only $100 went through and still no overdraft posted in my account. I called and they said their computer says it is overdrawn because pending item will post as of yesterday. Online never showed that. Still doesn't today. I said if my account showed me that I would have gone the day prior for the deposit. Looking today it still shows no over draft that day or the day after. Instead it shows four overdraft charges of which overdrafted me.

Scam artists
My husband and I have our own personal checking accounts with US Bank. We also had a joint account that we would put money into that was used for household bills, rent, utilities, ect. A few months ago my husband made a mathematical error in the balancing of the house account. To make a long story short, after all the fees were added, it was over $600. He tried to explain the problem and got now where. They wanted their fees. We both work for a living and are by no means well off. We live pay check to pay check. The account was closed by the bank. Two days ago, my pay check was direct deposited into my personal account. Believing that I had money to take care of some bills I proceeded to use the funds. On the same day, US Bank took $290 out of my account without my knowledge. They took the funds the same day that bills started to come out of the account.

After they took 'their share', and after the overdraft fees and returned check charges, MY account is now over drawn $345. I called customer service. I called the bank manager. I called the district manager. I got the same response each time. 'Too bad, make your husband give you the money back.' How can this bank CAUSE over drafts and then penalize me for it? If they would have left my account alone, there would be no overdrafts. I did send an email to my local congressman that handles financial reform. I have no idea how far this will get me but it is worth a shot.

I even offered to make payment arrangements to help pay back the closed and overdrafted account. I was told no. These bankers are the con artists and thieves of America that will cause our financial ruin. If anyone thinks that their friendly neighborhood banker is on their side, they are terribly mistaken. The banks are out to make money. They want to make money off of our money and if they aren't then they will find anyway they can to take it.

I have to wait 2 weeks for my next pay check. I'm sure by then, my entire check will be gone to the bogus fees. I have learned my lesson. When this is brought current, I will take my paychecks to Wal-mart and put them on a money card. I would much rather pay $3 per pay period to get my money than to have to pay $500 that they are going to bill me for fees that are unreasonable and unfair.

They're horrible
Please never open an account at US Bank!! They are the worse financial institute out there. I was an account holder for 6 years and on day one of opening my account they screwed up. To research their mistake they charged me a $13 researching fee, and if you ever call in to the 800.usbanks number their customer service reps have attitude and are not willing to assist. I also had a loan with them that I paid off two years in advance and then they come back on me and said I didn't pay it off. When I closed out my account I was misinformed by the Customer Service Rep. And a Senior Account Specialist took the call to close my account. After six years I didn't even get a - "why are you closing your account, thank you for doing business with us." In conclusion, US Bank doesn't appreciate your business you are just a number to them. Plus they have horrible business practices and their customer service reps. Have major attitude. Good riddance US Bank.

Overdraft charges
First I will say that I have had my account with US Bank for 1.5 years and never overdrew my account. I made my deposit on a Saturday. Us Bank lets you have $100.00 of your deposit for immediate use. I made 6 very small purchases totaling $60.00. These should have been paid. I made the mistake of paying my Comcast bill on Sunday (the bank didn't release the balance of my deposit until Tuesday) for $150.00... this WAS my mistake, however, when these hit the bank they paid Comcast first so that they could charge me $35.00 for each transaction. These charges totaled $245.00. My grandson and I live below poverty level... this lost is devastating for us. I called the bank and they would credit me back only $80.00. When I E-mailed the main office and they told me that it is their right to post largest to smallest and yet they claim that they are not doing it in the banks interest... MY B**T!!! If they were a moral business they would not do it that way. The proper way would be to post smallest to largest. I will be changing banks as soon as I get my next check. I urge everyone to avoid US Bank and transfer your accounts to another bank before this happens to you.

Also, that policy of holding the rest of the deposit until the next morning is bunk because that still doesn't give them time to find out if the check you deposited is good... that takes at least a week. There is absolutely NO reason for them to hold your money overnight.

Horrible customer service
I want to complain about the horrible customer service that the Manager Eric Beane is giving in the Us bank located in 540 Van Ness Avenue, an Francisco California 94102.

Today I went to make a transaction in this bank and I had to wait for a long time in the line even though the Manager (Eric Beane) was just sitting there, he didn't even wanted to acknowledge the customer, then instead of helping he just started to make phone calls.

This guy acts very bad and rude.

Somebody needs to teach him how to deal with customers.

What a bad person to work for this company.

Horrible customer service.
