I'm not one to normally complain, but I would have like to have known about this place before I called them and had them come out to my house. So hopefully this will help others make a decision to call a reputable garage door service company. The company is US Garage Doors (www.usgragedoors.com). I called the toll free number as they have "same day service" and "free estimates" advertised all over it. They told me that they could have someone out the next day. The arrogant technician (name was Ayil) came out the next morning (20 minutes late) and told me what needed to be done. He told me he would have to order the part$285 and it would cost $150 in labor to repair it. It cost me $100 to originally in labor to have the garage door put on 2 months ago (by someone else) and this guy wanted to charge me more than the cost of putting the whole garage door up. He wrote down the quote and told me that it would $45 for the service call. I asked him, what does "free estimate" mean. He said he gave me a free estimate and that the $45 was for the service call! Makes no sense to me and this was never mentioned until the guy was getting ready to leave. He told me that if I was to decide to have the work done, he would take the $45 off of the bill (another lie). I called him about doing the work a week later and he told me that it would still cost $150 in labor. He said he never said that he would take $45 off that he charged me for this service charge. I told him forget it and I will be taking my garage door business to a more honest and reliable company. Please be aware of this shaddy company that is very dishonest, rude, and out to scam you for every penny they can.
