Unprofessional clerks at Englewood, NJ Post Office
On February 7 2008, I went to the post office at 77 Engle Street in Englewood, NJ to file forms for a US passport. With me, I brought all required documentation: proof of US Citizenship, proof of identity, and 2 pictures Before office clerk started to process the documents, she asked me for marriage certificate which I did not have with me as it is not a required document. I was informed that application cannot be accepted without this document. Clerk could not give me straight answer why she's asking for the document.
She was rude and called "next customer" why I was still in line waiting for an answer. Call to the USPS' Supervisor Jim Hegebely (201-569-5834) did not solve the problem as he also claimed that marriage certificate is required. To make the matters worse, after I came back with my marriage certificate, next clerk (Thomas Bohrens) who collected my application did not even asked for it. He was present at the time of my argument with the first clerk. I asked him why he is not asking for my marriage certificate? After all that just happened. He looked and my and with smile on his face said, "you came back, and it means you have it". This was very rude of him by doing that. They both made a fool of myself. First by giving me false statement (that I need marriage certificate in order to get a passport). Second by sending me back home for nothing. When I mentioned that to the office clerk that, he replied "it's not my business". I know that Post Office clerks were wrong, because marriage certificate is not listed as a required document on application for US passport (section "What to submit with this form"). Neither it is mentioned when you call US Post Office's 1-800 number, and listen to information on how to obtain a passport.
I would like to file complain about Post Office clerks at the 77 Engle Street in Englewood for being very unprofessional, rude, unhelpful, and for not providing service that customers should expect.

Terrible service!
I would like to file a complaint on my mail carrier, he refuses to deliver my mail because my mail box sets back 4 inches from my neighbors (mail boxes are on posts near the curb on our road). Several years ago (approx 5) my mail box was knocked off the post by a snow plow, after several months of retrieving my mail from a P.O. box I purchased a plastic all in one mail box that slips over the post (the post stayed intact, just the box got knocked off). The mail carrier in my town periodically refuses to deliver my mail (recently I went 4 days with no delivery), he complains it sits to far back, but he delivers mail to a mail box that is about a foot away from mine that sits about 4 inches closer to the curb. I have cleared 7 feet of snow and ice all the way down to the curb and he still wouldn't deliver my mail. I confronted him and he used a very rude tone towards me and insisted that my mail box sets back to far and he told me he wouldn't deliver my mail. He filed a complaint on my mail box and I explained to the local Post office it is the same mail box and post that he has been delivering to for the past 5 years so they disregarded his complaint. His behavior is unacceptable and he should be reprimanded or replaced, he obviously doesn't want to do his job, which is to deliver US mail.

Poor service!
My daughter, Kristin McGowan, is not getting adequate mail delivery. I sent a package for her friend's birthday in January. It never was delivered. It was not returned to the place I ordered it until MAY!!! I received an email asking for an updated address. Since the address was correct, and the package not delivered, I had it sent to me and I gave the birthday gift when he came to visit in June. Last Thursday, I sent a birthday card and a check for $50 to my daughter. Today is Tuesday. Nothing has been delivered. Will she get it? She is on medication that needs to be refrigerated. The postman delivered her medication to someone else, left it on the porch in the sun all day, because that person worked and was not home to receive the package. That person delivered the package to my daughter, but the medication was ruined.
Today, when I asked is she got my birthday card, my daughter said she had not. However, she did receive a letter for someone who does not even live on her street. She says this happens all the time. The postman has worked the route forever but cannot get it right. Time for a new postman.
