I was looking for information on Pell Grants (educational) and found a website that said I could download all the information I needed to help find what I qualified for only $1.97. During downloading, nothing ever gets loaded onto your computer, so I thought, there was a problem with my computer and eventually gave up and forgot about it. When I receied my March '09 visa statement, there was a $59.20 charge from a company called USA Best Grants. I tried calling the toll-free 866 #, but it's not accessable from Guam (a US Territory in the Pacific). But I was able to contact visa on a toll-free 800#????? So, while I was questioning this charge with the Agent, I did a search on my computer for this website, and low and behold... from the search engine, all the finds were nothing but complaints of Internet Fraud. I told the visa Customer Service Agent this, and she went back several months and found another charge of $59.20 in February (the previous month, that I obviously had overlooked or didn't reiew) but it was from a different company name - American Grant. So the Agent helped me dispute that also. They said it would take14-20 days for visa to respond. They would try to contact this 'vendor' during that time. Hopefully, I get re-imbursed or the charges dropped.
