This is a big scammer that is using the name of USAFIS and the US State Department to commit fraud.
They send an email claiming to the USAFIS, however when you look at their address it says: [email protected]
Shortly after you will probably receive an email from the State Department (yeah right!) saying that you need to wire about $800 to some douche bag in London who is supposedly an "embassy agent", after dealing with Visas for years I can tell you that:
1. the State Department does not notify people through emails.
2. They don't collect fees through some guy and they definately do not collect fees in a bank in another country. Their explanation is: "The payment must be sent to the above U.S. embassy agent address in United Kingdom because the U.S. Government decided this based on the diplomatic relations with your country." Clearly a SCAM! And there is no embassy at the address given (for those who want to give them the benefit of the doubt). Also, the bad grammar would be another clue that this email is from an ignorant scammer rather than the US State Department.
3. Here is a big clue that this is a SCAM, the email address was: [email protected]
Both emails were sent from m3kw2wvrgufz5godrsrytgd7.apphosting.bounces.google.com so you know it's the same thieving douche bag. DO NOT SEND THE MONEY!!!
Now, my biggest concern is: how did this idiot get my email address and full name? Is someone from USAFIS leaking the information?
If USAFIS is serious about customer service, they should post warnings on their website with the above information and send emails to all the current customers. Then they should conduct an internal audit to figure out who is selling customers' information and press charges! If I were in the company, I would try to get an investigation going because it affects the company's reputation and this is serious fraud!
