Poor service
The USCIS service is very bad. They are so unskilled and careless. I sent my N400 form and money fee within 3 month I moved to new state. Formally it is a mistake. My N400 form wasn't refused on the first step. They sent me a confirmation letter and schedulled all subsequent apointments. In 5 month I was invited to the US citizenship interview. After I succesefully passed all history and English questions, I was told " by the way you are nopt eligible for the US citizenship because you filed your N400 form within 3 months after you moved to new state". When I asked why they didn't refuse my applicatins in a very firsrt days, they said that it is my problem, not theirs. I can't beleive they spent tax money to work on my application during the 5 months, instead of refuse it in a first couple of days. Now I need to send my new N400 form again, pay almost $700 again and wait another 5 months. BTW to file an appeal I need to file FOrm N-336 and pay $650 again.

WORK PERMIT
USCIS WAS MAKING MY LIFE REALLY HARD FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS.I'VE BEEN LIVING IN U.S. FOR ABOUT 9 YEARS.
SOMETIMES THEY MAKE DECISIONS ON WORK PERMITS REALLY FAST, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO WAIT LIKE 9 MONTHS TO GET ONE!!!
I LIVE WITH MY MOM AND MY SISTER AND I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WORKED AT THAT TIME, MY MOM WASN'T BE ABLE TO FIND ANY JOB FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND MY SISTER TOO, AND SHE WAS GOING TO COLLEGE.SO, WHENEVER MY WORK PERMIT GETS EXPIRED, I DON'T REALLY FEEL COMFORTABLE 24/7, CUZ I WORRY IT WOULDN'T GET TO ME ON TIME.I'VE ALREADY LOST 3 JOBS SO FAR, JUST BECAUSE MY EXPIRED WORK PERMIT.I ALWAYS FILE FOR IT 4 OR 5 MONTHS IN ADVANCE AND I GUESS IT'S NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR THEM TO MAKE NEW WORK PERMIT.IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE IN THEIR OFFICES, IT'S PROBABLY JUST ONE PERSON WHO MAKES WORK PERMITS FOR THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF IMMIGRANTS.OH WELL, WHATEVER IT IS, IT HURTS MY WALLET REALLY BAD, AND MAKES MY LIFE REALLY HARD.

Frustrated applicant

Poor service
Here is a short description of my case. I lost my original Certificate of Citizenship. In October, 2008 I sent the application for its replacement. I got a receipt of the form and approval of it from USCIS on my case. In December 2008, I cheeked the website to inquiry the status of my application. It stated that the certificate was issued and sent on Nov 19, 2008. Be advised that I should receive it with in the next 30 days. On Dec 28th, I called USCIS to notify that I never receive the certificate. I received a letter that I should receive the replacement within the next 14 days. I called after these 14 days, since I did not get anything on the mail. They open a review or investigation case. I got a letter that I should wait 30 more days for the document. I ever inquired USPS to check if they have anything for me in the local Post Office. No pending delivery mail was found for me. I called USCIS to open an appointment in my local office. They could not do much for me, almost nothing. At this point they recommended to me to submit the application again and pay the fees once again. I am afraid to do it again. The interesting thing is that I got all the letters from them, except my certificate. I wrote a letter to USCIS (Texas) and ask them for a mail tracking number or certified mail number. Such important document should not be mailed out without making sure that the applicant gets it in her o his hands. The letter was returned to me with a cover letter referring me to the customer service line. The same line I kept calling for months. At this point, with a lot of frustration I need to complaint about the process to request a copy of the certificate. I hope this letter wakes up someone ear or attention

Poor service!
I filed a petition for my finance 4/2006 and was approved. My finance went to his interview 1/22/07 and it was sent back to USCIS in California and now I will have to pay 455.00 to file this again because they are telling me that the validity period has expired. #1. it was out of my hands as it took then sooo long to process that it expired and #2. USCIS has the authority to extend validity periods and wont. Is this all about money? So, people that abide by the laws and rules are being taken advantage of in the meantime I am working hard, paying taxes to take care of the illegal aliens that have not been forced to go through this process.
