I've already complained to my local BBB. Family Trucks and Vans took a deposit of $1000 on a vehicle. The deal fell through due to financing and insurance issues. They told the BBB they "had no problem" refunding my deposit in full. They even told me on the phone that "they would credit my account today!" They didn't.
When I called back this afternoon, the office clerk said she'd "done what she was supposed to do." Well, she must have been told NOT to return my money, because it's not in my account!
I responded to the BBB with "If that's the case, where's my money?"
After numerous attempts to get my refund, I can only tell you that from July 2nd through July 18th they still have my money. I won't be giving up on this. I just wonder how long they think they can play me. I'll use every resource available to me to tell and re-tell my terrible experience at Family Trucks and Vans.The days of quietly cheating consumers out of money are over.

Be very careful when buying a used vehicle from any dealer on Craigslist or AutoTrader.com . I have ran across many vehicles advertising low mileage when actually the mileage is much higher. And even though this is both a State and Federal crime the authorities don't seem to want to do anything about it.
Even when reported the dealers still list the vehicles at lower mileage! See these examples:
Fairway Auto Sales 6151 S. Broadway St Wichita Kansas 67216 phone # 316-522-2277 lists a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado truck advertised with 106, 000 miles. But the vin # 1gcek14v83z348558 search shows the vehicle had 124, 000 mile on 05/17/2010.

And Schrier Automotive 6524 L St Omaha, NE 68117 phone # 1-888-434-8391 Lists a 1990 GMC Sierra C/K1500 4x4 with 50, 500 miles, but the vin # 1GTDK14K9LZ555025 shows it had 100, 014 miles on 07/28/1997 {14 years ago}. Car Fax reported Inconsistent odometer reading and Accident reported but the dealer does not disclose this and still maintains he believes the mileage to be 50.500! They have a FREE carfax check right on their site!

When confronted the dealers hung up on me! And when reported a month ago the authorities did nothing! So I guess it is up to you the consumer to do your own due diligence
