poor customer service
First, let me start by saying "I'm so angry!" I bought a used car one week ago out in Apollo PA. The car dealership eased my mind giving me 3 months free warranty. 5 days after I had the car, I lost all of the oil! I took the car to Pep Boys (who were wonderful) this was one of the places listed on the warranty where I could take it. Pep Boys quickly discovered it was an oil pan leak. They contacted c.a.r.s. and were told to fax over a list of what needed fixed and why. The end of the day I called Pep Boys and they advised me that c.a.r.s. never returned a call to them. This was now day 1 of work I missed. The next day, I called Pep Boys and was told again that they still have not received a call back from c.a.r.s. I then called the warranty company. Wow, talk about poor customer service!!! I was put on hold 5 times before I could even get out 1 sentence. I finally got put through to Brian who was to be the supervisor, and he answered by saying "hold please". grrrrr. I asked why they didn't return a call to Pep Boys and Brian (who wasn't very personable on the phone) said "we never received a fax". I called Pep Boys back and confirmed the fax # and they told me they did receive a confirmation rcpt when they faxed it the day before. They faxed it for a second time. I waited a few hours and called c.a.r.s. again... Brian at c.a.r.s told me again "nope, never got the fax". I was now furious.. I played games with this place for 2 days. The paper work had to be faxed 3 times. I felt like it was a circus act!!! On the warranty up top, it clearly says "oil pan" is a covered item. I was shocked when Pep Boys called me at the end of day 2 to say that c.a.r.s denied the claim!!! Pep Boys asked Brian at c.a.r.s "Are you going to call the customer to tell her" Brian's quick response was "no"... Pep Boys had to break the news to me. I've now missed 2 days of work and I'm a single parent with 2. The job cost $500. I went on c.a.r.s website and although they have a huge list of what they will cover, at the end in small print, it says to read your agreement.. The long agreement at the very end in tiny print, then goes on to list reasons why they wouldn't cover something. Let me tell you, they are scammers!!! After reading the list of "why's" it comes down to they really aren't going to cover anything!!! We don't know if either a hole rusted out in the oil pan (it was rusty), or if there was a weak spot and while driving, a rock may have kicked up and punctured it. I'm more frustrated with how they don't return calls, obviously aren't very organized if they can't locate their incoming faxes!!! It has been such an upsetting experience. I would never recommend them to anyone!!!
