complete Scam
What a SCAM! Complete waste of my money. The water pump went out and I had to show ORIGINAL receipts for all my old changes for 2 years. The garage that I go to, to have the water pump and oil changed offered to send them copies of all my oil changes and they said it wouldn’t work. They actually expected me to have copies of all those ORIGINAL receipts with me in my wallet so that I can fax them over. Keep in mind I dropped the car off earlier in the day and I’m at work. I only had 2 payments left and I canceled it. They actually said to me, “you only have 2 payments left, are you sure you want to cancel?” My response, “Why in the hell would I pay you $90 a month for 2 more months? You won’t even cover a fucking windshield wiper.” GOD I’M SO FUCKING MAD AT MYSELF FOR FALLING FOR THIS SCAM!!! They spend 30 minutes on the phone with you talking about all the wonderful things they cover, you’d think they could spend 2 seconds telling you to please make sure you keep all the ORIGINAL receipts in case something breaks.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!

Better give your money to the local charity
Saw commercial on TV for US Fidelis with Nascar driver Rusty Wallace advertising for them. Must be legit if they have a Nascar right? Well i guess not. I should have just given a check to my local charity because at least I know it would have gone to someone who actually needed it. Not a company who prides themselves on being one of the 'top' warranty companies out there. This is what happend to me and I am sure to alot of their customers.
I bought a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee for my wife to drive. It seemed like a nice vehicle with all the features that we wanted. Paid 3000 for the car, less then the bbv as stated by Kelly Blue Book values. Then I decided since we were running our lives with hardly any extra money, yea i'm going to blame the economy, we would by an extended warranty. I called US Fidelis, who is also Tier One Warranty, and purchased the warranty. They sent me a contract via mail and said I had 30 days to cancel, who has tested that possible lie? anyone? If so good luck.
I read over the contract and saw that within 30 days of contract a local repair facility must do a service on the vehicle and record mileage and vin on their paperwork. They did not tell me this it was written in their long contract. I did so as to not give them an out if I needed a claim. I am sure this is another way they get out of paying many claims. again anyone tested this part of their scam? Back to my story.
I was driving my vehicle 80 miles away from home when the underside of my vehicle caught fire. I pulled over to the side of the road to put the fire out, and with my fire extinguisher put out the flames. I did not attempt to restart the car, which never died, I turned it off. First thing I did was call AAA. Tier one has roadside assistance, so they claim, but decided that I would use AAA since I KNOW they are a reputible company.
Highly recommended to use them, well worth the $125 a YEAR. Towed the Jeep to my local repair shop, which did the first service, and called Tier One. They told me that the repair shop must determine the cause of the failure and report to them with it and also what it would take to repair. The repair facility was very cautious to take on this job. They have done this before with them and had bad results.
I did not have a choice at this point the truck was there and it needed to get fixed. They proceded to check for what went wrong. First they discovered the engine would not turn. Pulled the starter and decided that the trans needed to be pulled to make sure which was not turning the engine or trans. Pulled out the trans and transfer case, now the motor would turn. Result is that the trans is sized. New trans is needed.
Now they had all the info they needed to get the ball rolling with the warranty co. They called the warranty co. to discuss what needed to be done. After being on the phone for over an hour, the warranty co. said they would send out an adjuster, not a mechanic, an adjuster. The 'adjuster' arrived at the repair facility to check out the vehicle.
Looked over everything and then left. The repair facility recieved an email the next day saying that the claim was denied because the transmission lines were removed from vehicle and that caused the trans to overheat. Well of course they were removed. Did he not see that the transmission was on the ground out of the vehicle. The cooler lines are only a couple of feet long I don't think they would have been able to reach the transmission at this point.
So here I am with a vehicle that I bought for my wife and kids to drive around in and the only way I can do so is if I pull it with a strap behind by single cab truck, which we all won't fit in. I also have to pay the repair facility for the removal and diagnostics of the Jeep. Lets see I bought the vehice for $3000, paid $2500 for a warranty, paid over $500 for misc. repairs after the warranty to make sure that all was in working order on the Jeep, and now another $750 to the repair shop. That adds up to $6750 for a vehicle that I bought just three months ago.
For that kind of money, $2250 per month, I should be driving a bentley! So I think if you need to spend money on a warranty the best advise I can give is to give it to a local charity. Thats where my Jeep is headed. Also Rusty Wallace you should be ashamed of yourself for representing a company that screws hard working americans out of their money. Very sad that after over 30 years in racing you are siding with a company that does this.

sold my contract
I saw their commercials on TV so I thought they were legitamate. This company (USfidelis) sold my contract without consulting me. I was sold to a company by the name of Safe Ride Warrenty. I had taken my car to the shop and the general manager of Crysler had to argue with the company about having to pay the bill on my car. They refused even though the parts that were fixed were in my contract. I had to pay crysler myself . It ended up costing me over 2, 000 dollars. They fefused to pay a cent. They are a scam!!!

Maximum Cumulative Liability
On 7/30/2009 I called and inquired about the USfidelis Auto protection plan as show on TV, utilizing Rusty Wallace as their spokesperson. When I talked to the agent, she was very persuasive and when I kept on saying that the price was too much, she would automatically come up with a reason or "Plan" that I would qualify for that would dramatically decrease my contract amount. I would mention that I would like to discuss this over with my wife, she said that I would have to make a decision now. I asked her if the down payment was 100% refundable she said "Yes" within 30 days of the date of the contract. So I gave her a down payment, because it sounded too good to be true, and upon receipt of the down payment she said that I would get the contract within 7 to 10 "Business Days" from the date of the contract. Well that just put my 100% refund count down to within 20 days.
Their were two items that were mis-quoted to me over the phone: (1) She said that the probationary period would be 60 Days or 1500 miles, which ever came first, I then repeated it back to her and she said "Yes". This was wrong because its 60 days AND 1500 miles. (2) The way they make it sound, is that your vehicle would be covered for any of the covered components listed within the contract for 5 years or 100, 000 miles which ever comes first. Wrong again, their "Maximum Cumulative Liability" for the vehicle shall be the actual cash value of the "CONTRACT" or The actual "Cash Value of the Vehicle" as determined by the "THEN-CURRENT NADA AVERAGE CONDITION TRADE IN VALUE" or $5, 500 "WHICHEVER IS LESS".
Remember they kept going down on the Contract amount to get you to sign up because they will only cover up to that amount of the "Contract", or the Average Condition "Trade In Value", NOT RETAIL VALUE, which we all know is less or $5, 500 "WHICHEVER IS LESS".
So to break this down, For Example: If your Contract was $2995, the Trade In Value of the vehicle under the NADA Average Condition price guide is $1900, then they are only obligated to pay a Maximum Cumulative Liability during the 5 years or 100, 000 miles, which ever come first, is " $1900". So you would loose $1095.
Great Deal, NOT :(

Ripoff
I declined their offer two times but they kept calling back and finally offered it to me at a thousand dollar discount over the initial price they tried to sell their extended warranty for. I only accepted and allowed my Credit Card to be charged if they would guarantee FULL money back before the evalution period ended to which the male salesperson agreed.
Here is what you should be aware of and why I canceled my contract. Note they did try and charge me a $75.00 fee but I had recorded where I was promised a full Refund and threatened to go to the Attorney General and BBB so they did refund me the amount back but in their paperwork, that I received AFTER agreeing to the warranty trial it said there would be a fee that you would have to forfeit. Beware of this before trying the warranty.
First of all realize that there is a fee to look at the actual warranty whether you accept or decline. Second in their definitions be aware that "Breakdown" does not include normal wear. In other words if you have your air conditioning or transmission break down at 140, 000 miles and a representative of US Fidelis or a repair person says it occured due to the age of the vehicle, NORMAL Wear then US Fidelis will NOT COVER IT. Folks that covers just about everything. USFidelis in their commercial leads you to believe that any repair will be covered but the actual paperwork you get after your commitment says that anything that is declared trouble account of normal wear will not be covered. They have an out written in the contract definitions of breakdown.
Unless you want to waste your money forget this Warranty. Two additional things. Other ways that US Fidelis can get out of paying for your legitimate breakdown repairs are written into the contract that you agree to by taking the service. First they send bottles of Oil Treatment (like Slick 50) and you have to put this in your automobile right away or the warranty is voided and they keep your money and will not pay for anything. Also if you don't maintain regular 3 month or 3000 mile oil changes then they have an out. You have to keep accurate records, maintain receipts and everything cause you better believe they will challenge any payment.
In short there is very little chance, under their guidelines, that you ever will have any event that would qualify for them paying for it. Most breakdowns or problems WILL be considered or written off as Normal Wear.
If you don't believe this go ahead and take the trial, pay the fee for looking at their papers, and carefully look at the definitions in their contract. I spoke with service personnel at local auto dealers who stated that they have yet to see any breakdown that was covered by US Fidelis but every case they saw was considered due to normal wear to the vehicle.

SCAM-RIP OFF
I saw the TV commercial for USfidelis saying that they would warrant my vehicle and I can take it to any garage of my choice, and that they only cover vehicles with less than 200, 000 miles and within 10 years. When I called to check on it, I just wanted information sent to me before I buy. The guy told me that I had to put $100.00 down first before they would send me any information. I called on Feb. 5, 09, and shortly after receiving the warranty, my vehicle overheat, I took it to the garage I deal with, and after replaceing the thurmastat, and fancluch, they found out I had a blown head gasket. I told them that I had USfidelis. The garage told me that they do not deal with their warranty because they are a scam and not to even have it. So the garage is holding my tidle and I have to pay them the money that I would have to pay USfidelis each month till it is payed off . I called another garage that I also deal with, and he told me the same thing. I even called 2 Chevy car dealers and they told me that the best warranty to get is one through the dealer, and they don't even deal with USfidelis. I called USfidelis on 3/2/09 to cancel the warranty, and told the girl that I wanted to cancel, and told her that no garage will take their warranty, and that I am living on SSI disability and don't have the money to pay for it any more, and why should I pay for something that I can't use any way. She told me that all they could do was to put me on a hardship program and reduce the amount I have to pay. I told her no, but she did it any way, so I just told her ok so I can get off the phone with her and call my attorneys. I called again yesterday 3/24/09 to tell them that they owe me money for what they took out of my checking account along with overdraft fees that my bank is charging me. The same girl told me that I can't cancel, and that I have this warranty for the next 5 years. She also told me that she called a chevy car dealer that I have already talked to before. I hung up on her and she called me back, now it has went to harassment. I want them to cancel and refund me all my money and pay me for damages. But they will not listen.
