A few weeks ago I got a notice on my door from U.S.P.S saying that they had missed me and it was a final notice and that we owed 1.73 for postage how can we get charged for something we weren't expecting is my first question? Then the next problem is we got another notice saying that it was the final notice and it would be mailed back to the original sender on 5-17-2011 which is today. So my husband went online last night and changed the address for it to be delivered to, to the address where I would be so that someone could be there to sign for it and pay the postage. So the package never came so I tried typing in the confirmation # online and it kept saying there was no record of that number. So I called the number and they told me that you can not have the package delivered to a different address then the one that the original sender puts on the package so why is there an option for that online is my next question? So then they gave me the local number for the local post office where my package might possibly be if it hasn't already been sent back to the original sender? They also told me that they probably would not be able to give me the information over the phone. That I would probably have to go and pick it up. The problem is what if you work 5 days a week and have no way to get down to the post office and the post office closes before you get off work? So I called the number and it just rang and rang no hold option or anything?? Then I called back again and they were very rude and they transferred me to another department which just kept ringing and ringing and I can't get through to anyone and no way to get my package! It has my wallet in it with all of my important personal information in it which I had lost on the train and someone has been trying to mail back to me? So now my information is just floating out there for anyone to see? What am I supposed to do? They need better hours more convenience and better customer service
